I was at the game tonight. I don't know how much it means right now, but there were some hard hit balls against him. The defense behind him could have been a little better, also.
On a side note, the Ironbirds have a program for little league teams where the kids get to run out on the field with a player and stand with them during the Anthem. My two kids got to run out with Harvey. I wish I could post some pictures. I don't know how to do it from my iPad.
That's very cool. I'm jealous - and I don't mean for my kids!

He was fine against them last year, I'm thinking it's fixable.
I would think so.

Harvey pitched for gcl orioles today. 5 so and 1 hit in 2 innings. Glad he's back pitching.
Wow, this wasn't a hoax!!!!
He's back on the field!
This is amazingly good news for the O's. With how well he's done in the MiL and in spring trainings against ML pitching, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in an O's uniform this year. Certainly for Sept call-ups. Heck, he and Bundy could hold down a rotation spot doing 5 innings each every other turn. That would be cool, huh?

That's the best news I've read since - well since I read that we swept and are 14 games over .500 for the first time this year.

(vs. ROYALS, 6/07)
Entered the game a runner on 2nd base and nobody out.
Stranded the inherited runner at 3rd base, and then pitched an additional shutout inning.
Retired 6 out of the 7 batters that he faced ...... 4 by strikeout.
24 Pitches (16 Strikes, 8 Balls.)
ERA for the season is down to 1.91
Mychal's baaaaaaacckkk!

Seems like with most fans that if your player gets caught he made a mistake and is a wonderful guy. Another teams player gets caught and he is evil.
And don't forget, all Yankmees are evil.

Always find it funny the same people who were going Cruz at the stadium and cheering him on and loved him. AROD would come up and the fans would go get out of baseball you evil steroid user.
Well, cause, uh, ARoid sucks, duh.

D#&@ Patrick, I must be one incredible scrooge. I haven't been able to rep you for like a month.
Yes, D#&@ it. I'll celebrate either half of this equation!!!

You have my full support for this important cause!
Mine too. Hear hear!

The Yankees, of course, get an asterisk. When you put together a roster filled with late-30's players you have to include the injury factor. Otherwise, yeah, the O's did not seem to be particularly hard-struck.

(vs. D-RAYS, 9/17)
The offense looked dead in the water tonight.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, they scored 4 runs in the 8th inning ...... all with 2 outs.
They also did it with no HR's.

I won't look like an ass
Well, let's not take this too far!

I keep a semi up-to-date list of where all of our players in the minors are. There are a couple in there that I couldn't locate even though they show as "active" in MiLB.com. In my experience MiLB generally on point with knowing where players in pro-ball are at all times, but not always (eg where is Brady Wager?).
I followed up with a player who showed as active for the Ironbirds despite not being on their roster. Justin Viele was drafted in 2013 by the O's in the 37th round. In 2014, at 23 years old, he had an OPS of .473 between Aberdeen and Delmarva. He was even in camp in 2015.
So what happened?
I found an article written by him about getting cut by the O's and the next steps. I thought it was a good read. Check it out. He seems like a great guy.

In summary: I found him!
Very cool. Thanks for finding and posting. Lest we forget, that attitude is what life is all about.

Pretty disappointing after going 4-1 in the first five games of this 10-game set.
Pretty disappointing stretch no matter how you slice it. Thanks for posting these Frobby.

Also, MW is hitting. CJ is NOT.
Also, AJ is HITTING! Anyone think that Adam's breaking out of a slump is coincidentally coincident with our run?

Would love to take 5 in a row (heck, make that 6) starting Tuesday. They're all up here in NY and I would be out of my mind if we WIN ALL THE GAMES!
-
It was nice, but I don't think it is sustainable.
O ye of little faith. World record for season run differential anyone?
-
Win all the games.

The Orioles are 6-3 over their last 10 games.
Let's win tomorrow, and make it 7-3 ...... and, take the series from the Mariners.
Yeah, go O's.

12-3-1 over their last 16 series after taking 2 out of 3 from the Angels.
This really has been a remarkable run. The starting pitching has been amazing. If we could string together a run of 9 or 10 we would put this race out of reach right here. Go O's. I have to believe that 1/2 of our starting lineup is better than .230. We only have a couple of over-achievers offensively right now - Pearce (but he's cooled off), Cruz (but he's cooled off), Jones (but his ascent is sort of in line with his career progression). Compare that to the lack of productivity at 2B, C (oh yeah, we're missing Wieters for the whole year), 1B, and SS (this is a severe drop off from the Hardy production that we're used to).
I like our chances. If Ubaldo gets hot, and with the addition of Miller, the pitching can hold up. The offense has a lot of improvement left in the tank.

My all time favorite player Eddie Clarence Murray turns 58 today.
Me too. Eddie is the Man. When he was inducted into the HoF I took my son Edward up there. Whereever we went in Cooperstown Edward would perk up his ears and look around because invariably, from some direction, would be coming a chant of 'Eddie Eddie ...'. It was a great experience that we will both have forever. Eddie too I suspect.

Thank goodness he's not on a major league contract as well. Get well soon Hunter. We'll be waiting for you with open arms when you return.
