  1. FINALLY Ortiz gets tossed #disrespectful #zipitOrtiz @Orioles @masnOrioles? Jim Palmer (@Jim22Palmer) April 19, 2015

Didn't think I could love Palmer more but apparently I was wrong! Headed over to Twitter for a follow now.....

  2. It really sucks that I have to see ads for Red Sox World Series Champs gear at the top of the page from time to time. I realize it can't be avoided, but it turns my stomach even glancing at them.

  3. Last night's show was definitely one of the great ones. I had a feeling Walt was going to do something crazy with the video, but I thought he was going to end up threatening Hank in a different way with it. And yeah I'm not quite sure Jesse makes it much longer unfortunately. At least we know Walt makes it another year despite Hank, Jesse, cancer, etc.

We also know that Jesse will NOT be torching Walt's house, despite what we saw at the end of the episode. The house was abandoned and vandalized during the flash forward we saw, but I don't recall any signs of fire damage. Which leads me to believe that we are about to see a confrontation b/w Walt and Jesse, as Walt is likely headed home from the car wash, having figured out that Jesse didn't head to the car wash from Saul's office.

Long story short, Jesse could be dead by the end of the next ep!!!

  4. LOVED the episode. I caught up on this show over the past several months after not watching originally, and finished last year's 8 episodes just a few weeks ago. So this is the first time I've watched in 'real time' so to speak.

Last night's show was fantastic; the fact that this confrontation has now already taken place, in the first episode, underscores everything that is great about the show. I can't think of a single other show that wouldn't have dragged that conflict out before the two were face to face like that. Fantastic scene; the garage door closing was about as cool a moment as I can recall ever watching on a TV show. You knew the stuff was about to hit the fan right there.

  5. Also the lady in the current Luna commercial, and I don't want to be mean, but she's just not attractive. At all. And even if she was smoking hot, the commercial would still be terrible.

  6. It's been mentioned but that Old Spice commercial w/ Hamilton and Wilson is just unbearable. I literally cannot watch it, I change the channel randomly as soon as I see it's on. I can't recall any player(s) every looking more douchy than those 2 in that commercial. Wow.

  7. You had right, for me, the record still stands at 755, the single season at 61.

I think the Yankee's are in trouble, Tex is becoming an injury risk, Arod struggling, CC has had his issues. They have a lot of salary tied in up in a lot of age...I know they have incredible resources, but are they limitless? I hope not.

Well hopefully the dummy Dodgers don't bail out the Yanks from their misguided spending the way they did the BoSox...still can't believe LA took on those contracts, just to get AGon. Criminy.

As for the Yanks this year, their pitching is just not great, and they are pretty banged up. Certainly not the juggernaut we are used to seeing, by any means. You could argue that the ChiSox have a more dangerous lineup than the Yankees right now, w/ Texeira out. Or maybe even with him in. Still very dangerous though.

BTW heard on a radio program this morning that the Yankees were in trouble w/ Tex out, and 'the Rays and Yanks deadlocked in that division'. Conveniently no mention of the team that actually IS in 2nd place as of today, and plays them this weekend. So tired of that....

I think it was Mad Dog Radio on Sirius that I heard this.

  8. Some individual May numbers:

    OPS:

    Reynolds 1.042 (11 games)

    Johnson 1.029

    Jones .985

    Hardy .922

    Markakis .846

    Davis .829

    Betemit .674

    Wieters .605

    Andino .593

    HR Leaders - Jones 10, Hardy 7, Markakis 6, Davis 5

    RBI Leaders - Jones 22, Hardy 18, Markakis 17

    Starters:

    Chen 2-1, 4.20

    Hammel 3-1, 4.25

    Matusz 4-2, 4.33

    Arrieta 1-4, 6.17

    Hunter 0-2, 7.18

    Pen:

    Strop 0.66

    Johnson 1.42 (9 saves)

    Gregg 1.93

    O'Day 2.45

    Eveland 3.06 (includes one start)

    Ayala 3.29

    Patton 3.55

Buck needs to get Johnson on the field in June a good bit, with the other pieces we are missing, even a drop off from his May OPS will still be helpful. He needs to be DHing nearly every game for the next few weeks....

  9. I'm trying really hard but it's hard to stay optimistic right now; when you start thinking of some of the SP struggles, the OF we are looking at for the next several weeks, Wieters' horrific slump at the plate, and the continued trouble on the corners, it's hard to have a positive outlook on June and the rest of the summer.

Hopefully the guys in the rotation step it up - Arrietta to get better, Britton to come back strong, Matusz to continue to improve, and Chen/Hammel to not regress. It's really our only hope, because offense is going to be ugly for a while, it would appear. W/O a better showing by the rotation, the summary states for June won't be pretty....

Anyone who wants to point me towards the section of the board where the optimists hang out, please feel free.
