  1. I just can't get excited about a no-hitter where the pitcher gives up 8 walks. Non-perfect no-hitters elicit a "wow, that's neat, what else happened today?" response from me (unless it's my pitcher delivering the no-hitter).

    I started watching that game in the seventh inning, and it didn't have the same excitement that other no-hitters I watched had. But, most of his walks came early in the game if I remember correctly. Still, its the D-backs first of all, and they were playing in front of a weak crowd in Tampa, which probably factors into the lack of excitement.

    Anyways, I couldn't help but smile for Jackson during his postgame interviews. Its still great to see I guess. And he was a lot more polite in his interview than I would have expected Jackson to be, for anyone who cares:p

  2. worst almost no-no in history? seven walks

    When I was watching the game last night, the Rays announcer said that Nolan Ryan had a no-no with eight walks, but he also had 15 strikeouts. I wonder how high his pitch count must have been.
