Naw, Eduardo Rodríguez is the guy I think should be a realistic target.

Or one of the Mariner arms since word is they are actually going to try and flip one.

I'm just worried they end up with a placeholder guy because they refused to step up with money or prospects.

I agree. I think Rodriguez is their target. He likes it here, probably affordable and he’s a lefty which plays extremely well now at Camden Yards. If it happens I just hope he stays healthy and consistent.

What are the Brewers looking to do next season? Rebuild or compete?

If they are trying to compete, they need offense. Perhaps the trade includes a Santander, Mountcastle, Hays, and/or Mullins?

I also think the O's need Devin Williams. Again, what are the Brewers trying to do next year though?

If they are trying to rebuild, what prospects bag Burnes? Williams? Both?

Ortiz, Westburg, Cowser, Povich, Beavers, McDermott could get us both

I completely agree with trying to swing this trade. Makes the most sense for us, but I would try to include either Hayes or Mountcastle with a couple of prospects, as they are much easier to replace given our depth. This solves two big needs for us and we have the prospects they should covet.  I believe Williams has two years left.

  3. Look at Elias’ track record with the Astros when it came to pitching.  Quite a few pieces were acquired via trade and now that we have a stocked farm system with some position depth they need to take advantage soon especially if they are going to entertain the idea of extending some of our young hopefully soon to be superstars.
I personally would love to see what it would take to get Burnes and Williams from the Brewers. Burnes has 1 year of arbitration left and Williams two. That would solve our two biggest problems this offseason and I think it makes a lot of sense.

Now who are you willing part with?

I’d give some serious thought to something like Hayes/Cowser/Norby/Basallo and maybe we get some cash back

It's important to note who did or didn't choke--already so clear after just two games!

DID: Grayson, Baker, Webb, Mateo on defense, Mullins batting

DID NOT: Bradish (9 Ks), Hall, Coulombe, Perez, Wells, Mateo batting, Hicks, Henderson, Mountcastle

Mateo was UNSTOPPABLE at the plate yesterday hitting every type of pitch all around the strike zone--his second double just missed being a homer by a few inches. It might even make Hyde wonder whether he should start him against RHP Eovaldi (the history is just two ABs: a K and a single). I doubt he will though since he's such a strict platoon manager. If the O's get into the Rangers' bullpen, there are so many lefties that Mateo might pinchhit or pinch-run with subsequent at-bats.

O'Hearn will get his first start, even though it's important to point out that Eovaldi is actually a consistently reverse-split pitcher: career shows .746 (RHB)/.714 (LHB), but the difference is much more pronounced this season--righty batters have hit 183 basis points better than lefties against him (.762/.579)!

Hyde's rigidity with handedness match-ups might be his downfall on Tuesday. In retrospect, the fact that Adley, Santander, and Hicks are switch-hitters has allowed us to duck a lot of lineup-making problems.

Let's not forget Mateo's two baserunning mistakes that he somehow got away with, not once but twice trying to advance to 3rd on a ball in front of him. That's been the problem with him most of the year, mental lapses in the field and on the bases.  Granted we got our ass kicked yesterday, but if we are going to start winning these games those little things are going to matter.

This team has been resilient all season and if there is one team that can do it, it's this team.  Most of us are not accustomed to Orioles teams being resilient, but I definitely hope this becomes the new norm.

    Let's go O's!

Yep. I was able to add tickets for game 3 but not really sure if I want to go to game 3. I live in Myrtle Beach so it's a bit of a hike to go on a Monday.

Could be once in a life time opportunity.  You don't want to look back next year and wish you would have gone especially if they clinch that day.

Now strap in, fire up the Pinto and get ready to roll!

  6. I didn't seem to have any issues and was able to get tickets for all ALCS games.  Did anybody notice the price increase though over being a Flex plan member.  The club level tickets during the presale for ALCS were $250 a piece.  Today they were $400!

  7. I'd be surprised if it was sold out.  My link was active about 10 minutes before noon and the availability for each section would update when I changed the number of tickets.  Unfortunately, needing 4 tickets to each of the games pretty much limited me to club level down the lines, lower reserve and upper box.

Every time I tried to add them for Field Box or Club Box they would be gone by the time I tried to add to the cart, but I went back in around 12:30 and it looked like the upper deck in Left and Right Field still had plenty available.

I bought Flex Plan for this season and had 10:00 am slot today

Got 4 tickets for each game

    Sec 62 For ALDS G2

    Sec 252 ALCS G1

    Sec 244 ALCS G2

That’s pretty good in my opinion. Mine is at noon today. Could you tell if there were a lot of club box available?

I get 4 tickets to each game

I hate that we're going to have to root for the Blue Jays so much down the stretch. I would really rather they missed the playoffs and the West got three teams in.

I want the Blue Jays in!  We own them this year.  Texas, Seattle, and Houston are all tougher I believe.  Any matchup is going to be a challenge.  They just need to keep doing what they've been doing all season.  Attention to detail, aggressive and doing the small things well.

I kind of like the idea of a Flaherty/Carlson package.

I do too, and it shouldn't cost any of our top guys.  Verlander is not happening.  This story has played out multiple times in the past.  Flaherty has logged 151 and 196 innings before.  Carlson can play CF while Mullins/Hicks heal up.  Don't know what it would take to get them but makes sense and likely something the Front Office would be willing to do.

Here's the thing with Stowers. He can be awful 2 or 3 at bats and then hit a 420 foot home run in that fourth at bat. He's definitely a guy that will look very bad at the plate at times. then again, he always hit left-handers better than right-handers in his career but Hyde refuse to bat him against left-handers after the 5th inning.

Why are you so high on this guy?  Seems like you are always lobbying for him.  He hasn't shown me anything yet.  Granted he's only had about 100 ABs in the bigs, but reminds me of DJ Stewart who I hated to watch.

  12. On kind of a side note here, looking to go to the game Friday night with the family. What’s the consensus on buying $15 seats and just sitting in the lower box section? I know they used to monitor the field box locations pretty hard but looks like there are tons of seats available in all sections. I’d be fine with just sitting in the last few rows of sections 16 - 20.
