Pretty good job by John Libka.

I got the sense that it was an accurate but very tight strike zone. Anything just off the plate wasn’t being called a strike at all.

There was one infield hit, and on that Grayson was slow getting to the ball and then tried to lob a throw over the baserunner's head.

The grounder that went up the middle was 112 mph off the bat, w/ .590 xBA

If he’s thrown the ball into the runner’s back, he’s out for running inside the baseline and the runner at third (who scored) is sent back to third. A veteran pitcher wouldn’t have hesitated and would have made that play. Hopefully, they’ll talk about it so he doesn’t make that mistake again.

"At this year’s trade deadline, the Orioles and Rangers were contending teams with solid lineups and questions about the playoff viability of their pitching staffs. One team pushed all its chips to the middle of the poker table days before the deadline. The other hoarded most of its own, unwilling to match the risk, before playing the nickel slots."

"The Orioles believe they can win three in a row. They’ve believed in themselves all year. But no matter what ends up happening from here, the message is clear: If they want to compete on baseball’s biggest stage, the Orioles are going to have to make some bigger moves."

I think she makes a rather compelling case. Say what you want about the playoffs being a crapshoot, but this team lacks playoff experience and impact players at several key positions. I hope I'm wrong, but I see 3 and out.

This seems like a weird argument. As I recall, the Rangers acquired three pitchers at the deadline. One is injured and not on the roster. One hasn’t appeared in a game this series. One started yesterday, lasted four innings and gave up five runs, granted, one wasn’t earned. I’m going to bet, that’s not what the Rangers were going for.

While Eovaldi looked great against Tampa, let’s not forget Seattle tagged him for five runs in five innings and 7 runs in 3 1/3 innings in late September. So, he can be vulnerable.

  4. This feels a little like the Rays series. The division was on the line. The Rays came to town and took the first game in a close one. In Game 2, they punched us in the mouth. We know how that ended for the Rays. This team has shown great resilience. I hope it can do it again.

Also, Texas has some ALDS history of its own. In 2015, it won the first two games of the ALDS in Toronto. Then dropped the next two games at home before losing the series on the road in Toronto. They say history repeats itself. This seems like a fine time for that to happen again.

Will be a cake walk victory for the Rangers. You lose the first 2 at home it’s over.

2015 ALDS. Check out the losing team.

  6. Fujinami is not on the roster. Also, he apparently fell down and has some sort of minor injury to his hand. (Doesn’t sound like that’s why he’s not on the roster.)

No, it’s a lie. They specifically said, we have agreed to a new 30 year lease. They haven’t.

    Therefore it’s a lie.

Its going to get done and it was always going to get done but it’s not done and last night, they made it seem like it was done.

Technically, the announcement said they signed a “deal”, it did not use the term “lease.”

    5.06 (b) Advancing Bases

    (1) (7.02) In advancing, a runner shall touch first, second, third and home base in order. If forced to return, he shall  retouch all bases in reverse order, unless the ball is dead under any provision of Rule 5.06(c) (Rule 5.09). In such cases, the runner may go directly to his original base.

Can anyone get a video clip of the play? I thought he was literally standing on the bag after he stood up after he was on the third base side.
