  1. Grew up in Silver Spring. I was a Senators fan as a kid until they split town in '71. I held a grudge until I got invited to Game 2 of the '79 World Series, my first game at Memorial Stadium. Even though the O's lost 3-2 and ultimately the series, I have been a die-hard fan since.

I was there for the playoff and WS wins in '83, the 3 pick off game by Tippy. Moved to Florida and have some great memories at OPCY and the Trop as well.

  2. Brake tappers.

    Arrgh.

I am on a three lane road in a 45 zone and the car in front of me, who was tailgating the car ahead of them, tapped their brakes eight times in less then a mile.

Folks, you do not have to be continually pushing a pedal when you drive.

Here in Florida, the length of my commute is determined by the retiree or tourist in front of me.

  3. An update to my previous rant. MLB has refined things a bit. About 20% of the time the local commercials play. The rest of the time they now play a rotation of "classic moments from MLB". Those are great, and there are some O's related ones. Well, they were great like the first 1000 times I heard them! I don?t understand what you are trying to do MLB, and whatever it is I am sure it has nothing to do with the happiness of me.

Perhaps I should start a completely trivial rant thread?

Edit: you used to be able to listen to the entire postgame show and even a bit of whatever local sports radio show followed if you wanted to. Now they end the feed about 4 nanoseconds after the game is over. Why?

I too am tired of hearing those same highlights over and over. I now hit my mute button for two minutes at the end of each inning. Seems like a lot of wasted air time they could be selling. Even PSAs would be ok. Sirius does a better job and leaves the broadcast up for the post-game show.
