    Something that I think is overlooked by a lot of people - small tears can heal - it doesn't just stay a tear and then wait to be a more substantial tear. I've had a small tear in my shoulder (I'm a tennis play/teaching pro) that competes nationally. It takes about 4-6 weeks for a small tear to heal. It's not something that just gets worse. It can get better if you are careful and rest it. My shoulder feels completely fine. I get that I'm not a MLB pitcher, but he's a lot younger than me and his body heals much faster and my shoulder is being used extensively.

    How far south of 104 MPH is your fastball?

  2. Miller for Rodriguez trade got us 20 innings out of Andrew Miller and no world series win while the Red Sox got 14 WAR out of Rodriguez.

    Miller for Basallo is rolling the dice on what could turn out to be one of the worst trades in franchise history.

    An MLB.com writer made a bold prediction that Holiday will win the MVP as a rookie.

    https://www.mlb.com/news/bold-predictions-for-2024-mlb-season

    Nostradamus has already predicted this

     NOSTRADAMUS QUATRAIN #6-2

       In the year 1580 more or less,

       En l'an cens octant plus & moins,

       There will occur a cycle very strange;

       On attendra le siecle bien estrange;

       In the year 1703 the heavens shall witness,

       En l'an sept cens & trois cieux en tesmoings,

       In the year 2024 Holliday will reign most valuable player

       En 2024, Holliday sera le joueur le plus précieux

  4. January:
    We want Basallo, Norby and Cowser for Luzardo

    February:
    Hey we just read that Kyle Bradish has a UCL injury
    We now want Basallo, Norby, Cowser and Kjrestad for Luzardo

    I keep hearing a future (or present) move of Holiday at 2B, Gunnar at SS and Westburg at 3B. Is this the best defensive alignment? I was thinking it might better with Westburg at 2B, Holiday at SS and Gunnar at 3B. What do y'all think?

    You might not be wrong but Gunnar had a better fielding percentage at SS than 3B and had the 5th highest DWAR. Gunnar has said that he is a SS and they want a happy Gunnar. So i think it shakes out that Westburg plays 3B and some 2nd, Holiday plays 2B and some SS and Gunnar SS and some 3B

    I think there are several members of this group who could provide substantive input for Rubenstein to consider.  As I mentioned, Bloomberg runs a huge cable network and could be very useful on MASN.  Schmoke is a former mayor of Baltimore and Governor of Maryland and can help on political issues that they obviously have (this is true regardless of what you think of his political views).   Cal may be asked to weigh in on operational issues (hopefully, only when a voice outside of team management is needed).

    I must have slept through the years when Schmoke was Governor of Maryland, don't remember that at all.

    Cal does two important things right off the bat, Georgia will want to sell her 1/3 of shares to the ownership group that has Cal as a member, and how can MLB vote down an ownership group with Cal Ripken in it, that would be some bad PR

    I'll say it again, as I've always said it. The Orioles have NEVER been to or WON a World Series wearing a hat other than the cartoon bird.The cartoon bird hat is the ONLY hat I accept or recognise. The rest , the stupid"O's" hat, or the other bird hats are a waste of time, and nothing more than another attempt to merchandise a mediocre logo. ONLY the cartoon bird represents tradition and excellence. I'd never ever buy any other hat or logo.

    What about the old orange wing logo, first hat logo or identifier ever worn by a baseball team

    October of 1894, when Baltimore faced the Giants in the Temple Cup series -- which was a form of a world championship -- Baltimore wore special caps just for that and had an orange wing on the front.

    No 4am blog from Roch.

    Crickets from MASN.

    Watching MASN and reading the blogs from their employees i would sometimes feel like i was watching the old twilight zone episode where the 6-year-old child with God like power had all the adults terrorized and they couldn't express how they really felt.

    Wow the drama and histrionics over there is awesome to read. I’m tempted to sign up to a Nashville Predators board and post that Angelos now has plenty of cash to buy his home team predators. Nashville wanted him and the Orioles, it would be sweet irony if they ended up getting him as an owner.

    I don't believe John Angelos ran it like a $ store.  He ran like he intended to sell it.  He stripped it of all long term financial obligations.  Signed a long term team friendly lease. Invested in a stream of talented cheap labor and then sold the team at its highest value.  I don't think he cared about winning or losing, he cared about increasing the value of the team because his family was always going to have sell the team, when his father passed.

    Believe the settled lawsuit. His plan was to thwart a sale and convince his mommy to let him keep his toy. He kept payroll down because the team is his revenue source. He unveiled in his interviews what the future looked like and under his control it would be operating under low payroll ceiling and a cycle of developing talent and letting them go when they became free agents.
