There's a way in which I feel like now is one of the biggest games of Cole Irvin's career.

GM's like Mike Elias are not going to pitch him in tournament leverage.     In season the bumps and bruises of the 162 occasionally give league average innings munchers like him an opening like this.

Fingers crossed he can have a good hour, hour and a half.

    Innings munchers???

I feel like Yanks fans are starting to hate the Orioles for seemingly no other reason than the Orioles are good

Think how they'd feel if we have a young kid interfere in the ALCS and have it called a home run.

    Now THAT would be GLORIOUS.

Jim Palmer is a national treasure.

    Just a friendly FYI:

If you click on the Tweet itself to open it, and then "copy" the web address of that Tweet, you can then "paste' the Tweet here and it'll imbed properly and the Tweet itself will appear within your post here (versus being a clickable link in your post).

The "copy link" feature of Twitter doesn't always work on message boards any more.

While I still think he could become a reliable defensive 3B, I'd still like to see what he looks like in RF.

An outfield of Kjerstad/Stowers in LF, Cowser in CF, and Mayo in RF would be about as scary as it gets for pitchers.

    Imagine this 2025 lineup:

    1. Henderson - SS
    2. Rutschman -  C
    3. Mayo - RF
    4. Kjerstad - DH
    5. Westburg - 3B
    6. Cowser - CF
    7. Mountcastle - 1B
    8. Stowers - LF
    9. Holliday - 2B

Who the hell do you pitch around? :D

If that lineup is 75% or more of what he hope it is, how good does our pitching have to be?

It's not hard to see someone outbid the Orioles on Burnes. But if I was him, I would have to think about whether taking 200 mil instead of 150 mil is worth it when you are feeling right at home in Camden Yards and you have a chance to compete for a WS every year for the next five years.

$288M per the estimate in a column I read yesterday.

I can’t believe anyone believed in Akin because he had a stretch of good low leverage appearances at the beginning g of the season. He is who we thought he was.

I follow a few Orioles groups and it’s a reactionary group and a rough read. There are some knowledgeable posters, but it’s mostly emotional whining. I can’t imagine what those folks would have posted during the dark days, but I get the impression they are mostly fair weather types as well.

Invite a few of them to one of our Game threads.  That would be interesting.

Good thing this is cable. LoL.

Otherwise the dugout would be saying,  "The FCC won't let me be, or let me be me, so let me see..."

Two Fenway Park girls go round the outside......
