  1. People can feel how they feel. I don’t know Roy, but I’m guessing his passion for the Orioles is so great, and his disdain for the Yankees so ingrained that the last thing he wants to see is us getting roughed up by our arch-rival.

So maybe there’s some “expect the worst, hope for the best” sentiment in his post. I can relate to situations where expectations dictate the mood…

I have no clue how things will play out, but I’ll be watching and rooting!

Cool. So you’re one of those that for whatever reason, gets unnecessarily worried about ST numbers?

I only picked this example because it’s one I always have remembered. There are countless examples, including several good ones from recent years. I’m sure you know that. Maybe you don’t.

Anyway, Burnes is fine. Noting to worry about.

My quip failed... I'm not worried about Burnes.

Geez... everybody just pause, and take a breath. Last season the O's had no Means for the vast majority of the year. Bradish went on the DL for a stint after that comebacker. GRod totally sucked at first, got demoted before coming back and shining. DL Hall missed a significant period of time. Wells was an all star, and then he wasn't. Irvin was pretty much a turd of an acquisition.

And the O's won 101 games.

    Breathe... just breathe...

I wonder if he is going for full on Tommy John or one of the new fangled repairs? I googled for ten minutes and was none the wiser for what the state of the art is.

49ers QB Brock Purdy had UCL repair with InternalBrace. Here’a a summary comparing the two. I’m sure Bautista and his medical team will closely consider the best course for his circumstance.

  5. Astros fell asleep in their last two series against 100 loss teams. I expect them to be locked in for our arrival. I hate the matchup, they have disciplined hitting and Verlander is Verlander.

Yeah I just don't know.  Having this exact same injury (plus a bone chip in the elbow where the tendon pulled a chunk of bone off the main bone) it is just an extremely painful injury.

After the initial swelling and soreness subsides....you can actually throw and do things underhanded like lifting weights or bowling, but anything over hand aggravates it in a matter of a few throws or even in a few seconds.  I don't see how it will be physically possible for him to throw overhanded  AND throw at a velocity that he was accustomed to.  95 to 100 MPH.

Having had this injury it just seems impossible to me.  As I said I was able to keep working out and bowling (I bowl professionally) but anything remotely overhand was excruciating.

We really don’t know that Bautista has the “exact same injury“ that you do.
