Very nice job on the video by Michael. He does a very good job of interviewing with adding in video clips and pictures.
Always nice to see young men talking about they're experiences.
Good luck to Lyons on his chapter of his life or catching on with another team. Maybe the Orioles released him now so he had a better chance of catching on somewhere. Better to be released now then after spring training when most teams have rosters set and have their own depth guys.
I could see him and Teter catching on in Indy ball, if they want to continue playing.

And it looks like he caught the only runner who tried to steal.
It was actually a great tag, swipe on the way by.

Hit the ball hard every time he was up last night in Harrisburg

What a week. Six game sweep of Greenville, but just too little too late to hit the postseason. Good for Basallo for getting the callup for some extra ABs, even his outs were crushed.
-
should be noted that he also hit that home run *into* a gale force wind as the storm was approaching

Sounds like something Bedard would’ve said.
"What, I threw my five innings, what do you want from me?"

I have really been enjoying your observations about the Ironbirds over the last couple of months. I’d be very interested in your views as to which pitchers and hitters who passed through there were the most impressive to you, and who you think might be flying under the radar a bit.
I'm not a particularly good judge of talent, I was convinced that Henderson was going to be a bust. Everyone that I thought deserved a promotion this season got one.

just want to point out that the last three Aberdeen starting pitchers have surrendered a combined one base hit this week

He's been pulling the ball almost every time he makes contact. Groundout to first, groundout to second, pop out to second, single to right, etc.

tie game, two outs and two strikes in the ninth, and he rips one into the bullpen
first walk off home run that anyone's hit there since COVID

Wasn't the longest homer I've seen there, but it was close, and a moonshot no matter how you slice it. Out of the ballpark.

The first home run wasn't heat-aided at all, that one was an absolute bomb. Almost cleared the clubhouse in left field.
-
Good to see that he's back, hopefully we get a good luck at him at for the full series at home next week.

Looking into it further, it looks like the case was settled a few years ago. https://ballparkdigest.com/2019/11/14/ironbirds-owners-aberdeen-to-settle-lawsuit/
Best that I can tell, all those improvements were made before the 2021 season. I haven't heard anything else about beefs between the town and team since.

I'll say this much - the attendance numbers are accurate. There's a good percentage of teams, minor and major, who monkey with the nightly attendance numbers (Oakland averaging over 10k?). There's some teams that have bizarre sort of algorithms to determine what the listed attendance is going to be for any given game that have nothing to do with what the gate says. Aberdeen's are the actual, through-the-turnstile numbers. This wasn't always the case. (I'll also say this - I went to two Bowie games this year, and neither game could have possibly had 1,000 fans through the actual gates).

Thanks for the info. Do you work for the Ironbirds?
Yeah. You can message me if you want to know anything else, I have a feeling I shouldn't blab on an open forum about the specifics of events/my opinion on them.

They just switched the assists to Prado Who knows what happened? The official game scorer in Aberdeen might have had one too many tonight.
The scorer actually had an emergency in the first few innings and had to leave, no joke, so there was some shuffling around. Also the umpires were not doing their job in regards to player substitutions, so the stat crew was playing from behind a few times.
