  1. last start was so bad it makes you wonder if he was tipping pitches: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?date=2024-04-17&chartType=pitch&legendType=pitchName&playerType=pitcher&inning=&count=&pitchHand=&batSide=&descFilter=&ptFilter=&resultFilter=&hf=exitVelocity&sportId=11#753082 6 balls put in play, 3 over 100mph, one 96, 86, and 81
  2. this start? I'm talking about last start. every ball was crushed.
  3. that definitely wasn't the problem last start, every ball was crushed - check out the exit velocities on baseball savant
  4. are any of the rookies doing good? his odds maybe aren't down that bad.
  5. Much better, but still 7 hits through 4.1 - i'm guessing they do one more rehab and see where he is?
  6. i feel like the impact a terrorist like mateo has on pitchers is underrated
  7. here it is, makes you wonder how sound the information is on the other teams: https://pitcherlist.com/the-stash-list-week-2-top-10-hitting-prospects-to-stash-in-2024/ " Like Holliday and Kjerstad, Mayo could be an MLB contributor right now if he wasn’t on the Orioles. The O’s #3 prospect is ready for the big leagues but finds himself blocked by solid MLB options on Baltimore’s roster. The impending promotion of Jackson Holliday only makes Mayo’s situation more unclear. When Holliday gets the call, All-Star Gunnar Henderson likely moves to the hot corner. Mayo doesn’t have the defensive versatility to plug into any spot on the infield, so being blocked by Henderson limits his immediate fantasy value. "'
  8. I'd be careful with this particular list, this list from a few weeks prior was discussing how Holliday would replace Gunnar at short when called up. Everyone knew long ago he was going to play 2nd and Gunnar has been considered the better defensive option for a long time now. This forum is far better for any orioles information than any aggregator website. It's difficult to follow 30 teams closely.
  9. This doesn't make sense to me. The orioles are in the AL east, and aren't even in 1st place. Every game matters in this division and they are in the easy part of the schedule right now. Just because they have been able to "afford to let him figure things out" the past few games doesn't mean they will be able to tomorrow. If they were in the AL central with a 5 game lead maybe you argue otherwise.
  10. why is the 50 ABs in spring training where he struck out 40% of the time "small sample size", but the 100 ABs at AAA is evidence of mastery?
  11. 75% of the baseball world owes mike elias an apology for accusing him of service time manipulation. I can't tell you how many podcasts i listened to where they were acting all high and mighty about this evil GM and it's obvious he should be in the majors etc etc
  12. and play westburg at 2nd?
  13. missing a left handed bat in that scenario? no left handed infield options anyway.
  14. I just realized you guys were debating that for the past 5 pages. my bad. was listening to the locked on orioles podcast and it kinda assumed he'd be back (maybe he's just assuming he'll get better in the next outing).
