  1. Hard no. Put Kremer and let him see if he can do the job. David did slay Goliath. Just watched Mayo in an interview. He says he isnt worried about heat. He likes it. Never heard a guy so sure he can hit anyone's fastball. He was pissed he did not face that Pittsburgh guy that just got called up. He fills out the uniform too damn good for me to let him go. Miller probably gets a Tommy John in a year or two. They all do.
  2. Tonight on a segment with Harold Reynolds and two other guys they again brought up Kimbrel is toast. They said Baltimore has tons of prospects to give for Miller. They even threw Jackson Holliday in the list along with Basallo, Mayo, Kjerstad and Bradfield. I know they need to fill time but their ruminations are annoying me. Reynolds at least says no to Jackson Holliday. Frankly I would do almost anything before I give away Holliday, Mayo or Basallo. Honestly I would use Wells, Povich, Kremer at closer before I would give away one of those three. Kjerstad or Bradfield sure. Maybe a lesser guy or two. If Kimbrel can not figure this out we will be hearing this kind of crap all the way to the trade deadline. So get ready.
  3. Beavers at first base again tonight. Two hits and an rbi (in 7th inning) I searched his time at firstbase. He has only played it only 2 times not sure the time tonight is recorded so it might be 3. Seems like they are not really trying to give him much time there. If they really wanted him to pick up the position then playing him there once a week would be better. Wonder why they are putting him over there?
  4. Hopefully he will learn everything he needs to learn and come up to Baltimore and really show us the PEAK Bradfield.
  5. Oakland is in a weird place for sure. If they truly are going to try to build for being good in 2028 for the big splash in Las Vegas. Then trading for major league or even major league ready players makes little sense. In that situation you want to trade for a large mass of highly regarded lower tier guys. But that does not really make sense either to me. The odds of more than one panning out is not that high. I guess the best thing for Oakland would be sit on Miller and see how well he does for the next three years and deal him with two/three years of control left. If he is as skilled as we think he is he would get more in return with a longer track record and health history. Nothing makes sense to me for Oakland to trade him. I would make a team over pay.
  6. The Robo/challenge system in AAA has to help a kid with super natural knowledge of the strikezone. Then he gets to the majors and all that goes out the window and umpires got a dinner date at Ruth Chris Steak House and the strikeouts pile up. I want robo umps in the worse way. I made post about wanting it 15 years ago or more. I think they are all gone now but I wish I could find them. We are so close to dumping the "joy" of trying to figure out what 60 year old fat dude behind the plate thinks is a strike tonight.
  7. I predict Rubenstein will slowly and calmly reorganizes MASN. Hopefully this offseason he decides to make a few changes.
  8. This is where she has time to practice and get her thoughts in order. I think she is not good at fast reaction stuff. And I agree she is much better at that job.
  9. Okay so I wasnt the only one. I was really shocked at the time. It was NOT a good look for their special game.
  10. Wow you remembered! How did you remember the exact mistake? I just remember being gobsmacked and horrified and embarrassed for her at the time. It being a special hyped all women telecast.
  11. There is also the sound of her voice when she goes up in energy that is not pleasant to the ear. Its like nails on a chalkboard. Its like she is telling me to get off my butt and take out the trash.
  12. She did a national telecast last year of all women and MLB was really hyping it up. It was cringe. Halfway through the game she made a gaff where she did not know a basic rule of the game. I forget what it was now but maybe you can research that. She is not good at her job.
  13. Honestly I dont know her history but she seems like she did not grow up a baseball nut but is trying this just to be an announcer. If baseball really has to force women into all these jobs they should go to the women who played softball at a high level like college and international level. Bring them in. There are some amazing women softball players that would actually have real insight into the game.
  14. She was awful. I listened to her stumble around but Roy Firestone had to mute her. She had some great call on Santander homerun. Melanie: "And Santander ties it up on a…. Swing!" Melanie! you need to do better.
