  1. I love the offseason prospect talk in the Minors forum. Celebrating the previous year's successes, and looking on the bright side of our young players. The discussion and analysis is fascinating to me.

  2. Not having to watch that Memorial Day car ad (Jazzy 'Hail to the Chief') that was trotted out for every patriotic holiday over the last few years.

(And for that matter... the girl singing America the Beautiful hasn't been seen in ages either. Whoo-hoo!)

  3. There's a deli in walking distance from my house that used to have great chicken salad. But they recently changed the recipe, and now it's disgusting. Thanks.

I feel your pain. The local bar/pub/restaurant (whatever you want to call it) that's a block or so from our house changed it menu a few months back. There used to be a half dozen different entrees I'd enjoy regularly... all of them are gone, replaced with items I don't like nearly as much. The beer is still good though. :)

  4. Ok, I understand the Tex threads are huge.... but frickin' skim a page or two to see what's going on, or heaven forbid, search for Belkast's posts using the handy dandy search feature included in this software especially for you. Don't post a message asking for what's new (4 responses after the last guy asked) just because you happened to wander into the thread.... do the legwork yourself! ARGHBHDSHJBJASJHBAGH!

    ...ah. better now...

  5. Two quick rants:

    1) People who quote entire multi-screen epic posts... (we're talking Rshack length here! (Though not talking ABOUT Rshack since he hasn't posted any theses for weeks/months)), to add a reply of 10 words or less.... it's not hard to edit the quoted portion of posts, ya know? :angryfire:

    2) OHers who are so obsessed about receiving credit for every detail they post... (and I'm thinking of a couple off the top of my head recently, so I'm not annoying with anyone in specific). You're going to be remembered for your "body of work" and your arguments as a whole... not the fact that you called one specific fact 13 pages back on a thread... we all have times where we say things and don't get recognized for it... it happens - get over it. :angryfire:

And honestly... these are pretty irrational complaints... hence, why I'm just ranting about it to let off steam. Certainly not trying to start discussion in the 'Short Rants' thread (which I can't believe is still alive). :P

Oh.. and 3) Working a full day, then having to hang around for an evening event without having the chance to go home in between. I don't like driving to and from work -both- in the dark of night.../sigh

  6. Automated phone calls you receive, that tell you to please hold for an important message. If it was that important.. HAVE A REAL PERSON CALL!

Disclaimer: I've never actually waited to see if said call was important. Perhaps I missed something good, but I doubt it.

  7. ZZZMMMMMZZAAA DANNA DANNA DO HENNEEEEEH!!!!!

That damn Amstel commercial that practically kicks off every commercial break during the game broadcasts. Holy flirking schnit, it's driving me absolutely insane to see that toothless old man scream whatever incoherent language that is at me through the tv screen.

    UGH.

Totally agree. Didn't mind or even notice this one the first few dozen times, but now, it's driving me up the wall!

Also - Witchy & I would like to nominate for consideration.... the damn "Cuddlebear" commercial. Psycho-stalker is more like it.... and he can't even use bad cell phone reception as an excuse because the network is too good? Doesn't even make sense..../shrug

  8. Gotta disagree. That commercial is fantastic.

"His organ donation card includes his beard."

"He's a lover, not a fighter, but he's also a fighter, so don't get any ideas".

Yeah, I like these commercials too. Hate the J.G.Wentworth ones though.

  9. I'm just happy that I'm not a fan of the Apple Lifestyle, and bought a 30gig Creative MP3 player for less, that can play any file formats I'd like. :clap3:

But yeah, Amazon can get crazy with the shipping sometimes. Always a nice surprise.

  10. The one in heavy rotation with the little girl singing "My Country Tis of Thee"....

...nothing wrong with the sentiment, but the obvious cuteness factor and the endless repetition makes this my least favorite since the old "Hail to the Chief" car ads a few months back.... ACK! As Witchy said, 4th of July can't get here soon enough.

It's Ba-a-a-ck... (Part II). I think this is the second "bump" for a return of a hated commercial. So Southwest has repackaged this "gem" for Memorial Day, I'm guessing? I don't know... I'm already tuning it out because it's been on 4-5 times tonight. ARGH!! :angryfire:

  11. A few days ago, over the course of a single day, I found it necessary to pass three different extraordinarily slow drivers on 95, and I only spend some 40 minutes there during my commute. As I passed each one and gave them my death stare, I noticed one thing about all of them: they were ALL texting.

Everyone but me is a bad driver!!

:agree: Nine out of ten times - the bad driver holding up the normal flow of traffic is texting or talking on his/her phone. I can't count the number of times I've said "What the..." as I approach ... and then it becomes perfectly clear. They aren't concentrating on driving. Their laughing at the inane phone conversation...:angryfire:

  12. Any radio commercial where they pretend to be a DJ and are plugging a service, and then "search" for the number to call. Like, you can call them at, uh, oh here it is, 1-800..."

Screw you. Just do a real commercial! You are fooling nobody and it's simply lame.

Along the same lines, any radio commercial plugging TV shows, where the script calls for the network-hired voiceovers to act like they are talk show hosts, or "pirate radio" rebels... and that the spot isn't a network hyping it's own shows. Puh-leeze.

  13. People who respond to post #6 in post #1056 makin' me mad!!!!

    j/k :D

I thought that twoBshorty rant was pretty old... she's been rather happy/content lately. It's... bizarre. :scratchchinhmm:

But wow.. this thread is getting old.

My current short rant: allergies. Who said tree and grass pollen are allowed to peak at the same time? (Though I think we're out of that phase now...) allergies still suck. :angryfire:

  14. Alex Trabek

Stop acting like you know all the answers! You just have the card in front of you!!!

Oooooo... I'm sorry. The correct answer is pompous Game Show Hosts with Bad Mustaches.

Pompous.... game show hosts..... with bad mustaches.....
