<p><p><p>It did blow. It was sentimentalist crap, and the segue to the aliens thing (although it was pretty obvious that's where it was going) was hamfisted and unelegant. The whole thing with Marian was so blasted smarmy. And I knew who the kid was from the second he said his mom had been kidnapped. It couldn't have been anyone else. </p></p></p>
