Bellinger is the one to stay away from, IMO. One good season does not eliminate 3 straight awful seasons prior.

If Moncada and Jimenez have good first halves, that will be a big temptation to dump them at the deadline. That would tell me the WS are leaning toward a full rebuild.
Interestingly, the White Sox fans know they are in a full rebuild. I am not sure if Jerry Reinsdorf does.

I saw…and yet I’m the one who has said over and over that I don’t think Ortiz is a top 50 guy and that thinking he can highlight the package is absurd. They don’t listen. They don’t care about facts or what is actually being said(at least by me).
They just want to rant because Elias isn’t taking it in the poop shoot with no lube and then saying thank You for it.
Their best guy is telling them that they are over the top in their ask. They hang onto every word he says news wise but ignore him when he says these things. He seems like a good dude and is a WS fan, so it’s not like he doesn’t want the most possible but unlike the rest of that site, he can read the room.
It’s also dumb that they are looking at one list. These lists are all over the place. Apparently BP didn’t have him on before but MLB had him 50th. They are just going to quote whatever and ignore others. It’s disingenuous stupidity.
Yes. They respond in such way that they are the authority. They never respond to anything that are perceived negative stats by Cease such as pitches/innings or innings per starts. They collectively decided that Cease is the only pitcher available and every team should pay king's ransom for him.

Sure seems like someone tried to drum up bidding between the Orioles, Braves, and Reds. Then it was the Yankees and the Mets. Now they aren’t trading Cease at all because the price isn’t being met. Kinda sounds like there’s only one team left standing, the Orioles.
That is what sounds like. If the Orioles trade for other pitchers such as Garrett or Keller, Getz may get his "wish" and not trade Cease.

Is Broxton Garrett being talked about? There were some chatters during the winter meeting last year.

I find it funny how fans in ALL forums think their opinions actually matter saying: "I will take nothing less."

With the benefit of hindsight that is probably the 2nd best trade in Orioles History.
I am not sure. It is definitely up there as one of the best. Definitely debatable though. Cuellar trade, Boddicker for Anderson and Schilling, mega trade with Yankees that brought in Scott McGregor and Tippy Martinez etc, McNally for Ken Singleton and Mike Torrez are certainly up there. None of these top Frank Robinson trade though.

George Sherrill became an all star as a closer, too.

Two pitchers who I will be following this year are Baumler and De Leon. These two may make big jumps if healthy (big if with Baumler).

What if he fails physical?

I think very few teams have a shot at him in 2024.
No MLB team has a shot at him in 2024.

Luzardo is very attractive target although I doubt he is available. Braxton Garrett is another pitcher to target from the Marlins. Again, it is also doubtful if he is available.

The Cardinals do not need a third baseman nor a short stop with Arenado and Winn. Of course, they can be traded but not now.

Ok. Made me look.
Soju is a clear and colorless Korean distilled alcoholic beverage. It is usually consumed neat. Its alcohol content varies from about 12.9% to 53% alcohol by volume, although since 2007 low alcohol soju below 20% has become more popular. Wikipedia
53% ? That should do the job.
Very similar to vodka. Soju (소주) is made from potato.

There are chatters that the Orioles are discussing Bryan Woo from the Mariners.

I am not sure if Severino was ever a target for the Orioles but looks like he is going to the Mets.

A question for those who know this: if Woodruff does not get major league deal for 2024, how does his major league service time get impacted?

Not a good news for this young pitcher.

I mentioned on WS board that the Orioles should not trade Holliday, Basallo and Bradfield because there are no true duplicate prospects in the system. Holliday is obvious. Basallo being a catcher has to be kept. Bradfield is the only true center fielder prospect in the system.
