Is today the greatest day in Orioles history?

And take the bat out of the hand of a guy who just homered? Against Chapman? You know Santander is gonna goof up that bunt and strike out.
Yes, I would have. I am not sure who was on the bench to drop that bunt down (Mateo?), but Kjerstad could have went in for Santander in RF

The problem was in the 8th inning. 1st and 2nd no out. We should have stolen the bases with Chapman and his really slow delivery. Or maybe you bunt to move the runners up and hope for the sac fly. To hit away in that scenario is the wrong call. You have to play small ball to try to tie it up with a dominant closer coming in, in the 9th.

There should have been a double steal with Chapman's long delivery.

I can't imagine the Orioles havent already ordered the imaging on his elbow and don't have the results. There is no way they would let him throw if they didn't know. My guess is he has a partial tear and the Orioles may be trying to see if they can slip him on to the post season roster to see if they can get another 7-8 innings out of him this year before off season surgery. He is most certainly done for the regular season. My guess is he will try to throw off of flat ground and then potentially off a mound in 2 weeks time. If he can throw strikes, they will put him on the post season roster. But I'd imagine he will be getting UCL reconstruction quickly after that decision has been made.

This team is 100% going to finish in last place this year. Their pitching is atrocious. Blame no one other than Elias (and maybe ownership for potentially not providing him money to spend)

I have seen enough of McKenna. Send him to the minors, trade him, or release him. Your role is a defensive specialist and being lazy is not something you are allowed to get away with

The Yankees have handed out half-a-billion dollars this offseason. The Orioles simply can't compete with this.

Did this guy just start pitching? A 7 footer should throw harder than 90.

Kids these days are taught to hit the inside of the baseball. It wouldn't concern me if he hit a lot of balls to RCF. It's a plus for me, especially with his speed

Interesting note about Jones:
Over the course of two years worth of showcase play tracked by Synergy Sports, amounting to roughly 250 swings on tape, Jones never pulled a ball to the left of the left-center field gap, and all but about a dozen of his airborne balls in play were to right field. This is a little odd, but it might be remedied with an unobtrusive mechanical tweak.
Andruw Jones made five All-Star teams and won 10 Gold Gloves in a 17-year career in the Majors, and his son reminds scouts of his father's game. Druw is taller and leaner than his dad was as a teenager, but he has similar five-tool potential as a center fielder. He improved throughout the summer on the showcase circuit and he has impressed scouts this spring with a more selective approach and more consistent at-bats. He led Wesleyan (Norcross) to the Georgia Class A private school state title en route to winning Gatorade's Georgia high school player of the year award. While Jones' right-handed swing is still somewhat of a work in progress, he understands it well, shows the ability to make adjustments and does damage against quality pitching. He already has plenty of bat speed and drives balls to the gaps, and as he fills out his 6-foot-4 frame he should develop plus power. He's a plus-plus runner when he turns on the jets and is capable of beating out ground balls to the left side. Jones is the best defensive center fielder in the 2022 high school crop and might be the best defender in the entire Draft. His speed and instincts combine to give him tremendous range and his well-above-average arm strength stands out at a position not known for many cannons. Scouts who have seen the Vanderbilt recruit take infield say he has the tools and actions to play a fine shortstop as well.
