I seem to remember multiple clips in the minors forum Ortiz thread showcasing his range and arm.
-
To borrow from another poster here "if they're ready; they're ready!"
No advantage to giving their playing time to a stopgap.
Give them the experience they need to bring home the championship(s),

Some of Hall's bad outings were (at the time) attributed to "tipping his pitches."

I could build a case for three players to be #1.
Such a tease!

Six straight games at 1B for DJ. Beginning to look like it's his new home.

Last three games DJ has been in have all been at 1B.

OH was the very first (and for a long time the only) website I was willing to support financially. I came for the Orioles but stayed for Tony and the other staff as well as sharing the orioles fan experience (the good, the bad and the very ugly).
Thank you Tony. Orioles hangout has been a daily must for me for well over 20 years now. Other websites come and go but OH is read EVERY day, throughout the day.
This is a family here and I count myself lucky to be part of the shared experience.
And that's YOUR fault Tony - thanks for everything!

I have no idea what is meant by "exporting requirements".
Google has been unhelpful in providing any insight as to how this term applies to MLB.
-
I cannot vouch for this website but it says we won't be getting a competitive balance pick in 2022:
" ... The Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins did not earn CBDP as a result of not meeting exporting requirements."
A quick check shows that competitive balance picks were announced in early December last year so take this with a grain of salt ....

Tom Eshelman, Konner Wade and Pat Valaika all outrighted to Norfolk per MLB.com

Leandro Arias is linked to the Orioles 2021-22 international signings.
From the write-up: "
Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 55 | Run: 50 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 50
Arias is a switch-hitting shortstop with power potential from both sides and one of the most intriguing prospects on the market. He has good bat-to-ball skills ..."

Frobby, it looks like you'll have your answer around September 1st!

While not my personal choice, Kahlil Watson seems likely.

First round is.

Doesn't have to be Stewart ....

He is NOW. But he didn’t start. And there’s no excuse for that.
Unless there is a player in the lineup to showcase him for the Angels (or other scouts).

Streak is broken:

Why aren't the 2 7 figure guys on either roster?

I think I heard Steve Melewski say on the radio Extra Innings it will be announced tomorrow. So hope we have some MiL news since no games on Monday’s.
Gulf Coast league schedule shows Monday game(s). So that hole filled for a couple of months.

Forgot to mention Mike Elias was there. Sat behind home plate in back rows first couple of innings. Then he went to club level by himself for couple of innings. Then came back down to seats. I assume he was talking to other scouts around home plate. Left around 8th inning I think.
So was he looking at our guys, someone in the Blue Jays organization or both?
No way to tell, I know but fun to speculate!
