I would have been ok with letting Kimbrel rest today. He’s on pace to pitch in 78 games right now that isn’t sustainable at his age.
Not sustainable in this idiotic age of bowing to the pitch and inning count gods.

This ump is hilarious.

I checked, and if this game does get rained out, there's an easy make up day built into the schedule.
Monday, September 23. It's currently an off day for both teams, and it's right before the Royals start a series in Washington on September 24. We play in New York on September 24, but play this one early and we can get out of town in plenty of time (our preceding series versus Detroit that runs through September 22 is at home).
It would suck to lose an off day at that point of the season, though (it's the home stretch, literally the last week of games for the season), so I'm hoping the weather clears in time to get this one in tonight. And KC is off too and plays the Nats the next day so that day sets up perfectly. They must feel like they can get this one in.

Haha, just bustin' balls. Happy to help!
I know.....it is strange that nothing comes up in Google images. Thanks again. Now I can let my coworker neighbors know it is time for O's baseball.

Thanks for making me feel stupid. They are nowhere on Google images. Anyway, thanks.

I find it hard to believe with less than three weeks to start the regular season that I can't find a 2024 Orioles schedule with actual playing times anywhere. I need one to print out and put it up here in my work cubicle, lol. Can anyone help?

Any team today would likely dominate the 1927 Yankees. And that doesn't take anything at all away from how great they were.

The Burnes trade was couched as going all in for a WS run, but if Elias doesn't make moves to shore up the rotation we will be looking at giving up two major leaguers with years of control for a rental that won't be enough to overcome injuries. I mean Burnes is the replacement for Gibson (big upgrade), but now we are down 2 starters.
To justify the Burnes rental we need to bring in a at least one more legitimate ML starter.
So compared to our 101 season a year ago, we replace Bradish with Burnes and have a ready to rock and roll Rodriguez and no longer have Gibson. You are saying that means we can't win it all? Lost season? LOL. And for the record, the trade for Burnes is a huge win for us no matter how you measure it. Ortiz was never going to get playing time here and Hall is talented but will always struggle with control.

As a lifelong Orioles and Redskins fan this feels so good. I lost my football team so this definitely eases the pain.

Absolutely prefer to extend our guys. What fan of a baseball team would prefer other guys coming in vs your own guys you are attached to? I get the immediate help angle but this is a no brainer for me.

I think we need to move Hays, Mullins, Urias, Mateo, Frazier, and Hicks. From the little I've seen of them, I don't think Cowser or Westburg are going to provide enough pop with the bat. We need production from center field, left field, and especially third base. If we move Henderson to SS, we need some offense at those 3 positions.
Especially third base? Huh? Gunnar at third and Holliday at shortstop in need of an upgrade?

These comments about Adley are pathetic and embarrassing. I get it. We are all upset. Maybe some of you should take a time out?

Again, said this during the summer. This team is a lot like the Os teams from 2012 to 2016....minus the stars. A bunch of role players who had career years.
Only real star on this team is GH. Adley is ok. Is he better than Weiters? No.
Is anyone else on this team better than anyone from those teams back then? No.
In fact I think we had better players back then.
The key will be if our young players develop. And being honest....other than GR? They are not.Come on man. Really?

Texas is unreal. Impossible to pitch to this lineup
-
Been saying this ever since they announced the new format. Expanded playoffs SUCK. The three teams that won a hundred games are all in big trouble in a short series. 162 games played for this. Nice job Manfred!

These last two innings have been absolutely demoralizing.
-
That was hard to watch. I think I'm now at peace with this game being over.

Ya. Arm falls off at 100.

Would Bradish have been any worse that all the relievers that have been out there?
He's a Cy Young candidate who was pulled in the fifth inning for no good reason. Ya, I would have preferred he stayed in the game.

Far better decision than pulling Frazier. Bradish had great stuff today but he was at 88 pitches, Carter was seeing the ball well off of him and that part of the lineup was hitting him well.
He wasn’t going to face many more hitters either way.
Don't give a rat's you know what about how many pitches he threw. He had another two innings in him.
-
Do you think Jack Morris would have been pulled in the 5th inning allowing 2 runs and 7 Ks? Man I hate how the modern game is managed is now.
-
Absolutely ridiculous. Remember when post seasons were about starting pitchers?

I couldn't care less about our consecutive series without a sweep streak. You know when we were actually swept? Ya immediately after winning 101 games and season ended in the blink of an eye. So anytime that "streak" is brought up I think of that.
