  1. Okay, but the jury is very much still out on Loewen. I guess the thing to do is see how his next few starts are, (including tonight against Halladay. Yikes.) I'm skeptical about the virtues of having Adam in the rotation rather than Erik. BTW, is anyone in the organization actually talking about the possibility of moving Bedard? Or is this purely a theoretical discussion?
  2. So wait, what would our rotation look like? My understanding was that Chen was supposed to go down, and Penn would replace HIM.
  3. With all the statistics and opinions being thrown around here, I have still yet to hear anyone who advocates moving Bedard to the 'pen suggest a realistic replacement for him. Is there a pitcher that we have right now not in the rotation already who we think could be better than Bedard? I just don't think that there is. Move Bedard to the 'pen, and we'll be having this exact same conversation next month about his replacement.
  4. Juggling the rotation and the 'pen isn't going to solve the team's problems. There is no combination or permutation of our current players that is going to get us the wins we all want. Sending Bedard to the 'pen would be disruptive to his progress, and it's not like we'd be replacing him with someone better. This isn't a jigsaw puzzle, where we HAVE all the right pieces and just need to figure out how they go together. We don't have anyone who can fill that spot and get us better results. That's why I agree that we should trade Bedard before moving him. Sending Chen to the 'pen - fine; he's not going to be with us next year. But taking out Bedard and replacing him with someone of equal or lesser value... why?
