As a CofC alum I'm excited about this guy. Stats look good and the post above about his FB hitting 94 w/ an improved slider is good to hear.
Not sure if his ceiling is a FB/SL combo out of the pen or if he can crack the back end of the rotation one day. Luke - do you have any thoughts on him?

Jim Callis is saying OF Zach Watson out of LSU.

These 3 inning starts are just to get him more exposure/innings and work on all of his pitches, right? There's no chance they're actually trying to stretch him out to be a starter?

That's an ugly line from our top pitching prospect.

He's going to come at a crossroads sooner than later: would he rather be the 12th guy on a NBA team playing minimal minutes every other game or pursue a professional baseball career where his ceiling is much higher but his floor is potentially lower.
It's clear his #1 passion is with basketball but I think he will come to the realization that he is who he is as a professional basketball player. We'll see him in the O's system this summer if going overseas is in fact something he is not willing to do.

Means has improved all of his peripheral numbers this season.
H/9 is down 1.9 from last season.
HR/9 is down 0.6.
K/9 is up 3.1.
BB/9 is down 0.4.
WHIP is down 0.226
Good stuff even though it's still early in the season. It would be nice to see a college lefty develop in our system.
