Would his screamed “O” be louder than in the national anthem?

I remember how bad the '88 season was, how the team was a laughing stock at a national level.

Elias had two seasons with a worse record than the '88 team.

50,000 plus fans packed Memorial when they returned from Chicago  with a W and a record of 1-21

  3. I get concerned that Westburg will be dealt in a package for a starter.  I would tend to think that the future infield will include Henderson & Holliday on the left side. Duh!  If Mayo develops, Mounty could get dealt as well. We cant keep everybody.  Who's manning second & who gets dealt? Unfortunately, it appears Frazier will be this season with hopefully Urias splitting time.

Didn't your pappy tell you about going up in the woods to use this metal thing to scrape bark off the trees, and they'd use that to tan the hides? It backbreaking work, you got paid next to nothing, and everyone died at the age of 37.

But at least the local nine didn't have ads on their jerseys.

The Baltimore Sun tans the Hydes as well.

No, they haven’t moved the wall back in Sarasota to match OPACY.

To me, if you have a Fielding Bible-winning SS who is a light hitter, you don’t move him from SS.   Either his glove at SS is good enough to endure his hitting, or it isn’t.   Having a great defensive LF (assuming he’d be one) is nowhere near as important as having a great defensive SS.   Play him at SS, or don’t play him.

"Fortunately, I played for a manager (Earl Weaver) who was smart enough to realize that saving a run is just as good as scoring one. As long as I fielded the heck out of my position, he was going to have me in that lineup regardless of my hitting. So I dedicated myself to making a science out of playing center field." - Paul Blair in Sport Magazine (1985 Interview)

I think he's not acting like an adult and yea, it's a bad look.

You lost, suck it up and drive on.

You don't want to play nice, hit them with the old no comment.

Keep pitching well and in two years you can sign where you want for what you want.

Correct, plus he’s already making a smidgen more than a veteran like Kyle Gibson.

Very close friends of my family saw  Miller on the night he was let go having dinner at Geniere’s (a now gone restaurant in the Tuscany-Canterbury neighborhood).  They didn’t know the news and he told them Angelos said his services were no longer needed.  Miller said he evidently wasn’t “rah rah”enough to paraphrase and if it were up to him, he would never want to leave but it wasn’t up to him.  I seem to remember him still maintaining a house in Baltimore till his daughter(s) finished high school.

Damn Angelos! Would love to have Miller back. When I’m having a tough day, I occasionally put on a recorded Miller call. One of my faves is a 9th inning home game 3-2 pitch with 2 down to Hoiles from Norm Charlton with the Mariners in front 13-10.  I think you know what happened. Miller’s call sent me running through a brick wall.

Reimold was never the most graceful athlete, but he was effective at all areas of the game. Obviously injuries took their toll over time and he never fulfilled his promise, but he was a good player and a really good draft pick who significantly outproduced the two players picked ahead of him by the Orioles (Brandon Snyder, 13th overall, and Garrett Olson, 48th overall).

Lol! Those draft picks have now made my brain go Hobgood & Rowell

  9. This is outstanding! I have memory of hearing this. I used to sit in my car at certain locations and listen to games because it was the only radio that would receive reception in Berks County Pennsylvania. Sadly miss listening to Jon & Joe. I grew up with Chuck & Bill. A bucket list moment would be an O's world series with Jon & Joe making the call.
