It's the playoffs, because 9 other teams don't even get the chance to play that game
I could be wrong but I thought it's a best of 3 now.

32 out of the last 57 games will be against the AL East. Pretty brutal, but doable.
I think it's a good thing. It puts our destiny in our hands considering 3 of those teams are currently in playoff position.

DHing a catcher is tricky if the starting catcher gets injured, you lose the DH. I'm not saying it will happen, but there's a slim chance they carry three catchers if Rutschman is going to get time at DH or he might actually get more time at first instead, to avoid that issue,

Apparently, the offense isn't travelling with the team either.

What's particularly embarrassing is the A's have 7 regulars on the Covid IL. The O's are facing a PCL team in this series.

I was thinking 31st so I guess this is good news.

And there it is.
So this means we're getting Correa then? Right? Right?
We might get the trash can that they were banging during the 2017 World Series.

I was a little nervous to click on this thread.

Houston has 17 Mancini’s.
Travis Shaw is their DH. That's why I suggested it.

Houston might have interest. Ellis also knows their system.

I remember two years ago Brett Gardner suddenly went on a random power binge, hitting 11 in the first two months of the year. He ended up with a career high 21, a lot for a guy with 103 homers in 12 years though not quite as extreme as the Boggs example.
Check out Phil Bradley's career. Specifically '84 and '85.

It’s pouring near Westminster. If this heads towards Baltimore watch out.
Get out of this inning clean.
Only the O's could possibly screw this up.
EDIT: They didn't.

There is absolutely no one on the left side of the infield.

These players are on a pace for:
Mancini 120 R, 30 HR 331/385/576/961
Nunez 85 R, 30 HR, 90 RBI
Smith 100 R, 25 HR, 105 RBI 847 OPS
Severino 20 HR, 854 OPS
Villar 100 R, 35 SB
Cashner 20-5
Hard to believe this team will lose 100 games with stats like this. My guess is the stats won't look like this at the end of the season.

It's quite amazing that they might end up with a better return for Archer than we got for Machado.

Could Glasnow's success be due to change of scenery? His numbers in Pittsburgh weren't that great. Maybe Tampa Bay got lucky on that one.
Tampa got Meadows and Baz in the deal. Even if they got lucky, they still made out like bandits. With that said, Glasnow was a mega prospect with only control issues. If he was considered a throw in, that's a steal. We ended up trading Gausman for lottery tickets anyway.

Do you think so? I heard that Gausman was chained at the hip with O’Day.
The Pirates were interested in Gausman and Archer according to rumors. If that was true, I would think that Glasnow could have at least been acquired because it seemed as if the Pirates were down on him at the time. Now, if the dealbreaker was taking on O'Day aswell, then the Orioles messed up in lowering Gausman's value. I still think we could have acquired Glasnow for Gausman straight up and maybe acquired another piece(s) in the process. Glasnow's issues were only in control. His stuff was still top notch at the time. His control issues have seemed to have vanished. To be able to acquire a pitcher with his ceiling and pedigree for Gausman is a deal you make. It wasn't as if Gausman was lighting the league on fire at the time.

We should have jumped in on Brian Goodwin when he was released by the Royals...Hindsight is 20/20 though.

Here’s a query for the crowd:
If we traded Cobb for nothing, just got rid of his salary, would that be worth doing? We wouldn’t get anything back but we’d be free of the remaining ~40 million.
I think that would be worth it because I don't envision him bringing back anything of value. The problem is, I don't see anyone taking on his salary right now.

What do you mean we had an opportunity to get this guy?
He was DFA'd by Texas prior to the start of the season then traded to Seattle.

I think last seasons assets had more value than this season. Givens, might end up having the most value of the bunch if he can perform between now and the deadline. Teams often overpay for bullpen help at the deadline. As far as guys like Cashner and Cobb, that solely depends on what else is available.
-
We had an opportunity to get this guy but didn't. He throws 100 too.

Mayb this might give some insight on Gausman's tenure in Baltimore. According to Caleb Joseph:
