  1. Big Ten/ACC Challenge game.  Notre Dame is led by two seniors, John Mooney and T.J. Gibbs.  They have another senior forward Juwan Durham.  I think our young bigs will be challenged this game, I'd like to see the Mitchell twins give us some good minutes along with Lindo.  Of course Jalen Smith needs to step up.

Game is at home at Xfinity Center.  Terps are 9 point favorites.  Let's go!  I'll be recording this game but will watch when I get home later tonight.

  2. I saw there was a Temple game thread, which is part of the Orlando Invitational, but figured this one might deserve its own.  Championship game.  Maryland has a chance to earn their biggest win of the year thus far.  I think Marquette is a solid squad.  The key, of course, is stopping Markus Howard.

I haven't had a chance to watch a full Terps game this year (saw the majority of the Rhode Island game), so looking forward to it.

  3. Gosh our pitching is so bad.  Can anyone give me an update on any of our prospects?  Cody Sedlock, DL Hall, Grayson Rodriguez - are any of these guys close to being ready?  I apologize I'm out of the loop big time when it comes to minor leagues, I just know we've drafted a bunch of pitchers over the years and none of them have panned out.  Is Hunter Harvey still a thing? (a quick glance at his Wikipedia page shows he got credited with a win this year so that's cool I guess).

  4. I think the recruiting class is what gives Maryland top 10 potential.  As good as last year's was, this one might be just as good.  The late signing of Marial is the sleeper.  The fact that we didn't lose anyone significant other than Bruno was huge too.  There is a love/hate relationship with Cowan, but he's a good player and I'm glad he's back.  I never thought he was seriously considering going pro.  He adds valuable senior leadership.

I'll keep expectations guarded as I usually do with my sports teams, growing up in the DC Metro area will do that to you, but this could be a very fun team.

  5. Probably the best I've seen Cashner pitch in an Orioles uniform. Mixed it up tonight, pretty much hit all his spots.

It helps he was facing the Blue Jays. I honestly think we finish with a better record than them this year. Literally no one in their lineup scares me. Maybe Smoak that's it.

  6. My only issue is that a no-hitter is special and Hyde should have given Hess the opportunity to decide himself if he wanted to go for it. At least consult him in the dugout before the inning started.

I understand that Hess pitched on Thursday and it is the beginning of the season and all that. I was pretty upset when it happened but now I've calmed down and understand Hyde's reasoning. I still think he should've let Hess go for it.

  7. So happy with the Stone arrival. Hoping that Layman decides to come back, because this team would be super deep and athletic with him. He may decide to leave because this might be his best chance at being drafted since he won't he asked to score as much next year. Saw some people saying Cekovsky or Wiley might transfer but I don't see that happening. Those guys aren't going to get tons of playing time elsewhere. Plus I would like to think that the concept of, "team," has some value.

The only reason I can see someone transferring is if they think they can make it to the next level with increased playing time.

Team hasn't won anything yet. No guarantee they even make the Sweet 16 next year. But it will be fun to watch. Hoping for a B1G title, regular season and/or tournament.

  8. You went to the games, and I didn't.

    You bastard.

Ha. I picked some great games to go to. I was treating myself to an early birthday present, splurged on the tickets and hotel. Was worth it. Visit San Diego if you get a chance man, my favorite city in the country. Nice stadium too.

  9. Got back from San Diego...just wanna say that there were a TON of Orioles fans at both games, particularly today. Great to see, apparently a lot of people wanted to take advantage of wonderful San Diego (good choice). I had unbelievable seats today 4 rows behind the Orioles dugout. Could see me an my uncle during the broadcast, we saw later. Manny threw me a ball, got to razz it up with the players. We all were ribbing O'Day before his at bat, he turned around and laughed. When Davis hit that HR I knew immediately it was gone, and by quite a distance. Just a bomb.

Great stuff, games like me remind me how much I love this team (as if I didn't already know). Always have always will. Go O's!
