2. .189 ISO this year, but .128 on his career. I'm not saying I like the trade, but he has definitely shown pop this season. Fly ball rate is up and ground balls are down. The guy is driving the ball.
3. And the Padres are up on the counter, not even bothering to try to eat anything.
4. It's a cat. It could be spitting fire on just about anything--just because it feels like it. I think it perfectly represents the Dodgers over the last few years. Why do they make the moves they do? Because they can.
5. Tigers can't get a comp pick for Cespedes. And how many teams are looking for a COF? The market isn't there to warrant a high level spec for Cespedes.
6. If he was going to do something like that, he would have moved Gausman for Price or Lester last season.
7.

price tag is high on cespedes. belief is, with orioles, they'd seek gausman. last guy o's want to trade.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeymanCBS) July 31, 2015
LOL at all these teams asking for Gausman, Manny, and Schoop. There are what, 3 teams looking for COFs and several players available...and Tigers can't get a comp pick for Cespedes. Davies+ should be the value for Yoenis.
8. How about trading Davies in the offseason for someone who can actually help the team accomplish something? The 2015 team is toast. I'm not one of the people pounding the table, saying how awful the trade is. I'm just being realistic and saying it's a silly move to make when the team isn't going anywhere.
9. It makes the O's a better team for 2 months, but is it enough to get them to the playoffs and past the WC game? That's my definition of "moving the needle."
10. Parra will be worth 4 wins over 2 months?
11. Nobody. Tigers are just trying to maintain an already weak market.
12. A decade of losing would be what, Manny, Schoop, and Gausman for Cespedes?
13. Doesn't move the needle. Best case, Parra helps get the O's to the 50/50 game, and that would be after they play +.600 ball the rest of the way. This trade doesn't realistically do anything.
14. It was worth the gamble. Miller put them in squarely in the mix for a title, but the bats and SP came up with poor showings in a SSS. It happens.
15. Yep. 20 over is the warm, happy place. You're almost always going to make the playoffs with 91 wins.
16. O's are 3 up on the Tigers for the 2nd seed, BUT the Tigers are now only 1.5 games up on the Royals in the Central. How nuts would it be if they and the A's/Angels had to play a one-game playoff?
17. Haven't lost an AL East road series on the year, with 6 wins and 1 split.
18. Turned 22 yesterday. Way too young and talented to be concerned about his bat.
19. White flag trades are always fun.
20. The David Price trade will be the final nail in the coffin.I see a possible Kasmir-like move coming if they're still in striking distance.
21. It's going to be back-and-forth between the O's and Red Sox all season.
22. Haha! That's probably a worthy celebration after the crazy sci-fi stuff they just pulled off.
