  1. I live how WAR is the end all be all for ppl. All WAR does is compare that player to his backup. If AJs WAR is 4 and Mike Trouts is 3 because theyre back up CF is better than the Os doesnt make AJ better of the two because of that fact.
  2. Ok ciol. I have I've Kat question for anyone who actually knows. I dont want an opinionated answer. Hypothetically we traded Bundy Flaherty Lough To me that proposal is the equivalent to if not better than what they actually got. We receive David Price. If it's correct that Price is under control through 2015. Why not trade for him then deal him at next year's deadline to bring back what we lost. Therefore he would have been a full years worth rental. And ended up bringing us something back if we traded him next year. On top of being a possible piece that helps us hoist the trophy. Wouldnt that be a win win? Would that not make the most sense?
  3. Oh. That's awesome. So I've been reading some if your posts but it's hard for me to exact see where you stand on the whole "should we have traded for Price or Lester". Are you for or against them not making other moves or are you neutral?
  4. Oh where did you do that at? Or who for?
  5. You believe everything you read on wiki? Not saying that is wrong, but there can be a lot of BS on there.
  6. So Stotle. What is your duties of the OH scouting Contributor? Just curious.
  7. I agree with this abd feel the Os should have been in the same boat.
  8. All im saying is that the road to the WS just got that much tougher based on what other teams did and what the Os didnt. If you disagree with that then this argument/debate is ppl arguing for the sake of arguing. And if you agree then you somewhat have to agree that making a trade for Price or Lester would have greatly increased our chances. The whole.thing comes down to, you don't like the rush of losing Bundy for Price or Lester. Whereas I think pretty much the opposite. And I think its fair to say no matter how much of and what we ttpe, no ones opinions are changing.
  9. They might be real. But it doesn't mean the numbers dictate what actually happens on the field.
  10. So you're telling me that if the numbers stated we would be worse had we traded Lough for Price straight up, you wouldn't do it? Ppls predictions of our playoff odds are as useless as our opinions on trades. They pretty much mean didly squat.
  11. Wrong. What I'm saying is. Even if the Os acquired Clayton Kershaw Mike Trout and Miggy the numbers still wouldnt have escalated as much and therefore wouldnt be a true barometer have how well the team actually improved.
  12. Those odds are more pointless than some actual stats. They are opinions formed by ppl just like us forming our own opinions about these trades. What were the odds of the Cavaliers getting the number one pick this year. It was about 14%. I wouldn't make a trade based on a percentage nimber. I would make a trade based on what the player could provide. What someone estimation on our odds.
  13. It should read Bundy could have got Price solo. For some reason I cant edit anymore.
  14. And the Tigers got David Price for virtually nothing. If Bundy is so saught after, there is no reason he caught have got Price. Also those odds youre talking about. How did the As and Tigers only raise their odds by one precent but the Os would have Jumped two points? Because they were already projected as a better chance of getting there than us. Heres my take on how you guys are thinking. You try and make fun of me by saying, "oh you want to trade the whole farm" well to me, you guys sound like you would trade our entire major league roster if we got everyones top 2 prospects. Because you guys covet prospects more than proven talent. That's what.some of you guys sound like to me. Lets not trade our prospects to be good now. Lets hang on. So why not trade all of our good plauers for the future since you guys are more worried about the future than the present.
  15. I agree. But when a guy like Bundy has TJ, doesn't the chance of that take a hit a bit? And when you talk about weighing out the pros and cons of each trade. My current assessment: Hardy Davis Wieters Markakis Cruz All of these guys could potentially be gone in one to two years. So to me risking what Bundy COULD be, is worth giving up if it nets you a ACE type pitcher that could be a huge part of helping this team get deep into the playoffs. To me making a trade like that for a team that is so close doesn't make it a terrible trade. No doubt it could hamper the team in two or three years. But like I said, if we lose those bats, whats it going to matter gow good Bundy is. We wipl have to start all over again. Based on the possibility of losing those guys, I dont see how the Os arent in a state of "its now or never".
  16. Btw, isn't that what everyone on here does? Voice their own opinion. No one here is in the front office so all we can do is speculate and dream. I just dont understand how some of you who disagree with my opinion, and make your own opinion out to be the right one. No one here knows if holding on to Bundy is smart until a year or two. No one knows if trading Earod was the right move, yet. We all just have our own opinions.
  17. Because if these prospects of the Os were good, there is no reason for them to go after a Drew Smyly and guys like that. As long as the Os were willing to come off one of those arms, that is.
  18. Idk why u guys jeep saying " so you want to trade the whole farm ehhahhh" blah blah. Yall can stop putting words into my mouth whenevrr you feel like it. Yall do it to try and make a point about you feelings towards the situation because all yall can tell me is that they are too good to trade. Yet no one wants them.
  19. I don't think there bad. I actually don't think nothing of them until they are in a acrual Os uni. What I do think about them, is everyone on here makes these guys out to BE SOOO GOOD, so I would think they would be good trade bait. But I guess not.
  20. No way! So you're trying me teams were interested in proven vets rather than our in house prospects that some Os fans think arent even worth trading in the first place. What's that tell you about what other teams think if our prospects? Not as good as yall think, maybe?
  21. Haha. All I wanted was one of those three pitchers that got dealt. It wouldn't have took the whole farm. Also look back at my one post on page 7. Other than Machado and wieters, none of our picks In the past five years amounted to anything anyway.
  22. We will see what you say when Bundy is getting a second TJ surgery. But Hunter Harvey might have got us Price on his own before his injury. And one prospect for a Cy Young award winner with a full year of control is a win to me when you are giving up an unknown. Who knows what Harvey will bring to this team. Right now I see our twootop prospects recovering from injuries. let me get my sunglasses . FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT.
  23. Not really. Besides Machado and Wieters name me one oriole prospect in recent years that emerged as a superstar? Tillman Jones Davis All from trades. Cruz Jimenez Hardy All FAs Other than Wieters and Machado the Os strikeout every year on prospects. All of our current players were out casts or pretty much given to us from other teams. And some of you guys think our in house pitching prospects are so good, yet the FO is in love with going after Astro pitching, fof all teams. So to me. Recent history tells me the Os make out HUGE when they make trades more than drafting and grooming their own players. Prove me wrong.
