  1. i really did not like hydes tone in the postgame press conference. he seemed like a guy who has never been here before, because he hasn't . he was so down about the loss it could set the wrong tone for a young team. you lose game 1, i get it,not ideal but its a best of 5 series and we have saw the O's come back in series before. come out, tell the media its one game ,don't look defeated and reassure your young team the series is far from over.

he is cussing in the dugout about gunnar getting caught stealing in game 1,this is not the nfl one and done.

lets hope they come out today and even it up,if not go to texas and win 2

I've been saying for a while that I dread facing Texas.  I'd much rather face TB, a team we know very well and one that's a) beat up and b) a team we can force errors on if we're the aggressive hitting/baserunning team we've been at various points this season.

@Just Regular mentioned Evan Carter in the OP - he's really hot right now.  And even tho Josh Jung hasn't been effective yet since he came back, he's someone I worry about, he and Jonah Heim.

Too many good, power hitters in their lineup for my taste.

    agree 100%

I like the ban. But gonna say ehhh, it's one of those even stevens. Same for every team. Not just us. No one gets the benefit so, call it a wash. Made the game funner in my opinion. I like watching scoring and on base action personally. Defense on shifts was a boring version of defense.

i agree, hated the shift, just think it probably helped us

  4. with all the left handed batters the O's have, that has had huge impact on winning games. i'm sure somebody could figure out how many ground ball or line drives hit to the right side would have been probable outs in past seasons. but that is for another day , what a great night to celebrate!

I can't see anyone wanting to play mid-March games in Detroit, Colorado, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Chicago, NY, Toronto......heck, even Philly and Baltimore are still way too cold.  A really good way to get pitchers and players injured is to take them from the very seasonal temps of their spring training sites to playing ball with temps in the 30's and 40's, especially at night.  Some might argue to play them during the day.....the owners then get less revenue.  Some might argue play the games in the south first.  Are there enough teams in the south to accommodate this?  And what, do Houston, Texas, Florida, Arizona, etc. get the first two weeks at home, and then have to play most of September on the road?

I just don't see baseball any earlier in March as a good thing for the overall health of the athletes.  I do like the idea of expanded rosters, but the owners (knowing the have to pay MLB minimum salaries) will argue that it costs them more.  I imagine a lot of this has already been hashed out in the CBA negotiations anyway.....players don't want fewer games because they won't get paid as much (or so they argue....and, like it really matters, right?), and owners want more games during the "better weather months" to increase attendance and revenue.

I'm a bit of a purist...when I see guys in the World Series wearing hoodies under their hats and winter face coverings to stay warm, it feels more like beer league softball to me.

100% agree about the weather.its too cold in march. some fans live in florida or down south/out west where its spring most of the year.maybe climate change will fix it in the future

50 road wins.  That’s pretty impressive!

i'm really happy they will get home playoff games, but the O's are definitely road warriors. should have won today, wasted a great start by Bradish but they got 4 more on the road in cleveland.
