  1. The timing of the DL trip, is very convenient for them to bring up their hot prospect for sure: Souza has easily been the hottest hitter in the Washington Nationals minor league system. In 91 games at Syracuse (AAA), Souza leads the International League with a .354 batting average. In 328 at bats, he has 23 doubles, 2 triples, and 18 home runs. He is tied for the International League lead in RBI with 70 and leads the International League with an impressive .601 slugging percentage. http://dcprosportsreport.com/nats-send-nate-mclouth-to-dl-call-up-steve-souza/
  2. I suspect his shoulder hasn't been right all season, hence, his .172 average. I am also sure that diving for that triple didn't do the shoulder any good. Could he have kept playing though the injury, who knows? Needing a roster spot for hot prospect gave them a reason to put Nate on the shelf for two weeks. I could be wrong, but I dont think this is a major cover story, not like its a mystery ailment that nobody knows about.
  3. McLouth ends up on 15 day DL for his ailing shoulder. Hurt it back on the 28th of July. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/wp/2014/08/04/nationals-place-nate-mclouth-on-disabled-list-call-up-steven-souza-jr/
  4. The view is so much nicer up here, then in the dungeon!
  5. You can't win 162 games, you keep winning 2 out of 3 and things will be just fine.
  6. Baseball Prospectus rates him as a realistic #4 starter and an ETA to the bigs in 2017. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=23489
  7. Only because you wrote a longer answer. The one thing I meant to say. Boog played in the pitching era, look at 1968, and the 10th best pitcher in AL had a 2.45 ERA. In 1975, the 10th best pitcher had a 3.08 ERA.
  8. Boog had a very good glove and adapt at handing hops and high throws, as well as stretching out to catch the ball. As a big man, he moved pretty good for his size, but he didn't have the range that Eddie did.
  9. There you go, using facts to win an discussion in OH, you know you can't do that?":D:D:D

  17. He is, and with the LG Twins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Bell_(infielder)
  18. 4 games and just 11 AB, but he did play back-to-back against Houston.
  19. It's not the same thing. Buck would have probably had a quicker hook, if the player hadn't been there and done the job for him for the previous two seasons, leading the league in saves. If Melvin had JJ around for the previous two seasons, I suspect he would give him more rope to see if he was just in a funk.
  20. Seen them in Ocean City on the Boardwalk and the Tee-Shirt Shops.
  21. When its the MFY, even more so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
