Not impressed with the hit tool so far. Hopefully he can start driving the ball more.

A second ago everyone was saying that Ellis didn’t upgrade the rotation enough and now some are saying there is no place for Grayson when he returns. So which is it?

Cano has more innings pitched than Akin and a lower ERA by over a run.
Webb has essentially the same number of innings pitched, a lower ERA by over a run and a half, a better WHIP and a better BAA.
Coulombe has a better ERA by over half a run and also has the best WHIP and BAA of any reliever in the bullpen.
Even Dillon Tate also has a better ERA.
Even though Akin has been roughed up a few times I agree for sure he's been good, but don't know how you can say he's been the best on the team, whether by a small or large margin.
His combined war is more than any reliever on the team. He has a FIP of 1.02.

Akin has been the best and most valuable reliever on the team thus far this year and it’s not particularly close.

Chace and Nunez were sharp again today.

Many pitchers have started out well so far this year in the system and Aberdeen has Creed, Etzel, and Vasquez all starting out hot. I would say Delmarva is our only affiliate where the position players are not performing.

Big game Baumann!!

I don’t understand why he didn’t come out after the first mound visit for an injury. Dumbfounding.

This ump has big $ on the A’s.

If you aren’t pinch hitting Heston there, then please send him back to Norfolk.

A’s don’t overuse their closer like Hyde

Hyde likes the win rule

These umps are so awful. It’s getting ridiculous.

I think Urias is washed up. There has been nothing to give us hope. He’s pounding the ball into the ground and hitting it about as soft as anyone in baseball.

Not sure why Heston is on the team. Seems like it’s not the optimal use of a roster spot.
-
Irvin keeps mowing them down.
-
I’d rather see anyone in the lineup over Urias at this point. At least Mateo brings speed.

I still don’t understand how a lefty with the best ops+ in baseball is hitting 8th on our team against a righty.

McKenna wasn’t on the 40!!!!

Stowers must have some incriminating photos of Elias.
I don’t think we need another lefty outfield without a good glove.

Roch should be happy with this move. In all seriousness, hopefully Urias turns it around as he has been swinging the bat awful all year. He’s metrics are some of the worst in baseball-much worse then Hollidays.

I think "well" is a bit of an overstatement. He did give up 5 runs to three outs across three appearances recently, and the two outings since then were not clean.
Akin currently has a FIP of 1.11. He’s struck out 15 and walked 3 in 10 innings without yielding a homer. I consider that well.

I don’t see any risks involved in anything mentioned. Akin is the only pitcher that has pitched well of the players mentioned, so it may not be smart to option him.
Go get Kopech..and other potential BP additions

I think you have to get an elite guy unless we have an injury. When Grayson comes back, assuming the health of everyone (big if), you have kimbrell, cano, coulombe, akin, Webb, Suarez, and Irvin in the pen. If we are going to upgrade the bullpen, I would want a clear upgrade.
