This was his 8th game….should we send him down now?
-
I wonder if Tate is the answer this year?
-
Would have liked to see us be more patient in those last 2 at bats.

Maybe, but you could see the potential in the first inning. He threw some good sliders and changeups along with a 96-98 mph fastball. His command was pretty bad after that though. I watched his first two innings.
His numbers were atrocious….no maybes about it. His stuff was good but location was awful - Detroit was teeing off on him. Sure the guy has potential but he pitched poorly today.
-
Jack Leiter’s line was atrocious today.

Look at the difference Adley made when he arrived. Did you know we haven't been swept in the regular season since he arrived?
You take a Jackson Holliday off a AAA roster, its just not the same. At least he still upholds the farm ranking for another odd month of games.
I don’t disagree. However, it proves the point that these Norfolk players aren’t going to just all come up and beat up on mlb players.

He's gotten a ton of hype by posters on Orioleshangout. Was that just because he's Matt Holliday's kid?
Yes, I think you are right. #1 prospect in baseball due to being Matt’s kid.

5 innings of no hit ball today.

Come on blue!

Hays’ defense is way overrated.
-
Get Hays off this team!
-
Can anyone hit but the milkman????
-
Still have to love the way the milkman is hitting.
-
Does anyone have any reports on Mordan? He’s only 19 and hit very well last year in the FCL…..off to a blazing start again this year.
-
I have to assume the plan at the end of spring training was to keep Holliday down longer, but after Urias and Kemp were not hitting, they felt the need was greater then they had anticipated. I think they saw something in spring training that they liked in Kemp-kemp had a great spring; but whatever it was did not carry over and they pivoted to try to win ROY and give the team a boost.
-
Would hate to lose kemp this early in the season. A veteran clubhouse presence can’t be overstated for this team.

Urias has had his wRC+ decrease every year of his career and he will be 30 in June. He also looks slower this year. I’m sure his hitting will improve but the Batx projects a wRC+ of 88 and Bat projects a wRC+ of 84. So while he will hit better, it looks like his career is on the downward trajectory.

I never want to see Hays and Urias play against a RHP again.
Don’t worry, Hays will play tomorrow. If Cowser plays, it will be to give a different “starter” rest.

Hey what do you know, maybe Cowser wasn't such a bum that some people believed after last season's MLB time. Amazing what regular playing time can do as well.
His playing time has been sporadic at best this year. He hasn’t played a full 9 innings yet. Would love to see him get more opportunities.

A sample size of 9 games is pretty meaningless.
It also shows you that other teams aren’t letting hitters reach that many plate appearances for players starting out so ice cold.
-
Hopefully Hays can pinch hit for Cowser soon. I’d hate to see Cowser play a full 9 innings for the first time this year.

Hays needs to get that launch angle up!
