  1. Think of him as Cionel Perez but with a changeup. Oh, and he's much taller so that fastball can play up even more than Cionel's at times.
  2. He gave up a couple seeing eye singles, but also allowed the first home run of his professional career, a two-run shot. Then went back to striking guys out and getting ground balls. Hit 96 MPH and had a real nice change going at time. He was taken out after 67 pitches (70 seems like the Low-A pitch count so far), striking out 10 and left a runner on 1st that didn't score. I'd really like to see them extend his pitch count some and challenge him against High-A ball hitters.
  3. Well it is his second truly poor throw. He's going to have to work on that or 3rd base coaches are going to run on him a lot. He's got the arm strength, now he just needs to work on accuracy. Accuracy can improve over time.
  4. Mateo has always seemed like one of those guys that is easy to root for. Now that's he's settled into his utility role, he has a nice long career ahead of him.
  5. Mateo played well both offensively and defensively in this series. He's a nice utility guy. Now if we could get Mayo at 3B, move Westburg to 2B we'd really be in for a show.
  6. Well count me as very satisfied! Great series and he bullpen really put it together after struggling with the A's. Baseball is a funny game.
  7. He absolutely could use one. Cowser too. I think we may see McKenna get a start this weekend in LF.
  8. Cowser wouldn't be able to hit right now if you gave him the wood version of one of those little kid fat red bats.
  9. Well, he was ridden like Seabisket down the stretch, so that didn't help.
  10. Be nice if Kimbrel pitched the 9th just to get some work in.
  11. Wow, Webb has some voodoo going on with the middle of this lineup. That was a a terrible at bat by Rizzo.
  12. Judge has to call him Mr. Webb next time he sees him.
