You had this same rant in the game thread. No team is pitching around anybody with a runner at first and two out. You're not putting the winning run in scoring position on purpose. This is just like the "why don't we intentionally walk Randy Arozarena every single at bat" threads we have to deal with every time he gets a hit.
It's hard to take a lineup seriously when Tyler Nevin is one of the better hitters in it, but their pitching is legitimate and the back end of their bullpen is scary.
But when Santander gets hot or Adley goes on a power run someone else might start slumping. Cowser is not going to have a 1.139 OPS forever, nor will Mountcastle likely end the year with a .385 OBP. I think this offense is about as good as anyone could have hoped for.
I don't know, with two outs I think it's worth the risk. Staying on first means counting on Rengifo to deliver an XBH or Rengifo and Neto to both get hits, neither of which are very likely against Kimbrel.
What did Kremer do to piss off the bullpen? First Cano blows the save after his gem in Pittsburgh, then they turn Kremer's 1-0 game into a blowout in KC, now they do their best to blow a 6-1 lead.
