  1. You know who was a real terrible underachiever? Yordano Ventura. Won 38 career games, that guy had the talent to win 150 to 200.
  2. Some interesting gametimes. Tonight's game is 6:10. All the other Reds Friday night home games are 6:40. Sunday's game is 4:10. Most of the other Reds Sunday home games are 1:40 (there's also a 1:10 and a 12:10, but no other late afternoon games).
  3. The NL Central has been a bit of a trouble spot for us lately. We are 8-13 against that division since the start of last year, losing 6 of 7 series (the one exception being Pittsburgh at Camden Yards last May when Cedric hit for the cycle and Wells pitched a gem). Weather could be a bit of an issue with a chance of rain Friday evening (though less than during the day there) and again Sunday afternoon. Will be weird seeing a Reds team without Joey Votto on it. Last year he didn't play for the Reds was 2006. Chris Ray was the Orioles closer that year; Jeff Conine was the starting LF.
  4. Baumann threw 24 pitches and pitched 2 innings last night. Doubt he was ever available. He didn't use Kimbrel. I don't know if Suarez and/or Wells is out in the bullpen yet, though I expect they will be soon. If they weren't, then Hyde used all available relievers except Kimbrel.
  5. Jon Ogden's in the Hall of Fame. Or did you just mean baseball players?
  6. Webb continues to OWN the middle of the Yankee order.
  7. Well, there is a difference of opinion between you and the Orioles. They believe in managing based on getting guys in against guys they are statistically more likely to hit. You obviously believe in playing guys that are hot for extremely brief periods of time. So you are probably not going to like a lot of the decisions they make.
  8. Maybe, but if the lead stays 5 or expands maybe we try to get by with lesser guys in the 8th/9th? Cionel probably pitches.
  9. It would be so awesome to get 3 more shutout innings from the bullpen and hold the Yankees to 2 runs or less in 4 straight games.
  10. Bullpen has stepped up this whole series. That Torres HR is the first run it has allowed in 4 games, I think.
  11. So he got that inning. You think he's done at 68 pitches or whatever he's at? I think he gets another.
