I get what you mean, but I feel that with all the young rookie pitchers we'll be bringing up it makes more sense to help the confidence of those pitchers that they can throw a breaking ball in the dirt by accident and know it's going to get blocked as opposed to watching a wild pitch/passed ball go by the catcher and thinking, "Oh no worries, he'll get me back when he comes up in 2 innings."
Also, defensive minded doesn't exactly equal "putrid offense."

I hate the Yankees just a smidge more than the Red Sox, but I also feel that Red Sox fans have had way too much happiness the last 15 years or so and deserve the dissatisfaction of losing to their rivals on their own home turf.
I can’t bring myself to vote on this, even though I started the poll. I just pray that whichever team wins is quickly dispatched by Tampa.

I hate them both. It's never the right thing to hope for a brawl and some injuries, but if it happens I won't be upset.

After leaving Virginia in 1989 for Switzerland and having lived all over the US the last 20 years I am finally retuning to my home state and within a drive from OPACY!
I would like to take the family out to a nice dinner in the area when we arrive mid-August. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a great steak dinner?

Agreed. As someone with a crappy anxiety disorder I can feel the difference from when I was standing at the plate in college vs. something I am confident in, like drumming. Without medicine I could barely swing at one point.

Garceau is pretty bad. Not Hunter level bad, but still bad.
Garceau at least knows when to be quiet and let us hear the crowd, like when Mancini came up to bat on Friday. Hunter would have blabbered all through it.
He makes a ton of mistakes every game though that are easily avoidable.
