  1. He has been on base three more times again today. Since he seemed to bottom out in Milwaukee in 2014, he has steadily rejuvenated himself. 2015 .230/.315/.713, 13 HR 2016 .282/.356/.806 14 HR The increase in the batting average is notable.
  2. Marquez strands Bryant. Pitch wise, he probably has another inning in him in this close 1-0 game. I haven't checked the weather, but it has been raining in Denver. Perhaps there is balming humidity in the air?
  3. And exactly as I post that he gives up a leadoff double to Kris Bryant.
  4. German Marquez has a no no through 6 in Colorado today.
  5. I think we are still a couple of cash/PTBNL's in the hole
  6. Tonight’s Mariners – Angels game featured several former Orioles, headlined by Yovani Gallardo making his Mariner debut. Yovani was ho hum, giving up 3 ER and 8 hits in 5 IP. The most interesting thing was that he was sitting 92-94 mph with his four seamer and had good velocity on the two seamer as well http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/pfx.php?month=4&day=7&year=2017&game=gid_2017_04_07_seamlb_anamlb_1%2F&pitchSel=451596&prevGame=gid_2017_04_07_seamlb_anamlb_1%2F&prevDate=47&league=mlb Bud Norris pitched out of a jam of his own making, Danny Valencia went 1-4 and made a couple of nice defensive plays, and Nelson Cruz went 1-4 while driving in the M’s only run. It was a thrill a moment I tell ya!
  7. Tony: I just cancelled by CCbill subscription and re-upped using the new store and Paypal. Things went smoothly. Although, note that the link to the store in your post above is broken. Thanks again for the great site and for fostering such a great community.
  8. The Astros close out the season with a dismal 8-1 loss to the mighty Angels. They finish 84-78, 11 games out of first and 5 games out of the wild card. All they need is starting pitching.
  9. No hitter broken up by NY on an Oakland challenge!
  10. Our old friend Eduardo Rodriguez has a no hitter through 6 in Oakland. He is at 88 pitches. Boston has six hits, but hasn't scored either.
  11. You mean major reconstructive surgery on a body part that has lots of money leveraged on it is not the obvious response to a sore elbow? My Google knowledge of the topic is that diagnosing discomfort in that area for a pitcher is not easy peasy, and there are lots of pitchers who rested (e.g. Andrew Miller) and came back fine....because the issue was muscle related. I think until you see a clear sign that the tendon is gone, you hope.
  12. ...and he is out of the game; he still had more hits than he gave up but the once 4 run lead shrank considerably.
  13. I watched a chunk of that game. He has been on almost as many teams as pitches he threw that game. [emoji38]
  14. LOL, yes THAT guy. He now has an RBI and two hits.
  15. Edwin Jackson has a no hitter through 6 innings against the Giants.
  16. Jake Lamb gets a single with one out in the 8th. Right after that a double play ends the inning. 14 K's for Bumgarner so far....although it might be the end of the night for him.
  17. Through seven now. 93 pitches. The crowd is murmuring in Frisco.
  18. Madison Bumgarner has a no hitter through 5 against the Diamondbacks. It would still be a perfect game except for a Gregor Blanco error.
  19. Dan may have been too pessimistic about that neck...or at least underestimated how difficult it was going to be to replace Nick's production more cheaply or with more upside. Nick seems to have gotten his second wind. The next two years could still be ugly, but...
  20. The Astros got clobbered by Seattle last night to drop to 6-15, dead last in the AL. Is it just a slow start or is The Plan to lose 100 games for the next three years to really, really stock up the farm? I would lean toward a slow start, but that starting pitching suddenly doesn't look as great as it did last year.
  21. Another double so far today against the Nats (2nd inning). Were reports of the demise of Nick's power premature?
  22. Why does the At Bat App only give me playoff stats? Do I care that Tony Sipp has a 0.00 ERA in the playoffs?
