Our bullpen seems spotty of late.... It's pretty cold right now...
-
Although Aberdeen has evidently put up 6 runs with only 2 hits.... That's weird...
-
The Orioles minor league affiliates have scored zero runs.
Just felt like whining....

How is it idiotic to try and steal 2B to be the tying run? Especially with a pitcher who doesn’t hold runners and a fast runner at 1B.
Because the game ends when the out is made on the basepath. Never end a game with an out on the basepath. Give your team a chance to hit.

Ugh....After watching today's game, I think we need at least 2 good relievers, maybe even more....
-
Game ball #3 goes to Angels Jo Adell for trying to steal with 2 outs and representing the tying run. Although I think he was actually safe, that is pure idiotic...
My son's travel team used to do incredibly stupid stuff like that and I'd go ballistic....

He and Kremer are the little girl with the curl- when they're good, they're very good. When they're bad, they're awful....
-
I'm confident he'll hit great one day. Unfortunately, it does not appear that that day is upon us yet....
Today's strike out was pretty painful- bases juiced, 1 out, just needed to put it in play to plate a run and he struck out looking at a heater down the middle...
He looks lost to me and needs to re-establish himself at Norfolk. Bring Mayo or Norby up for now...

Suarez is the same guy that gave up 5 runs in 4.1 innings to Scranton/Wilkes Barres on April 12th and 5 earned runs in 5 innings to Durham on March 31st. The Twins have the 28th best offense in baseball right now with several players on the IL.
Love what Suarez did yesterday but consistency start to start has not been his M.O. this spring. Hope for the best but know the worst might happen.
This... (sadly)

2 hits in 29 at-bats? I feel bad for him- what a rough start to the year. He hit pretty well last year so I assume he'll heat up at some point but that is a slump and a half...

…and we have our highest rated International signings there…

Keegan Akin back to the rotation!!!! Make it so!!!

Starts here.

I respect your right to be superstitious. But if we execute our pitches and take good approaches as the dish, we can wear silk pajamas or business suits and still be successful. The uniform have ZERO to do with how we perform.
Superstition is such a funny phenomenon. Correlation (losing in the City Connect Jersey) does not imply causation (the Jersey causes us to play poorly).
And yet I don't think I'll go to see a game in person ever again- They get completely blown off the field by the 3rd inning every time I go to a game in person. I know that my presence does not affect how they play, and yet I can't help but think whenever I attend it's "guaranteed loss night" at Camden Yards....

I saw that bush league play- the Brewers catcher was excited by the strikeout of the Oriole and threw the ball up into the upper deck. I've never seen that. Brewers were sure rubbing it in our faces last night.

He's a total tool.... but I still want Bauer...
Ok. I won't bring up his name anymore....
-
My last 3 Orioles games I attended:
Mil 11-1 (O's with 11 K's)
TB 7-1 (2 hitter)
Minn 8-1 (Dean Kremer's shortest career outing 2.1 IP).
I know that it's the luck of the draw when you buy your tickets but geez.... I want my money back...

I'd love to know what Adames said to McCann! I've never seen both dugouts and both bullpens empty without a single punch being thrown... That was kind of lame. My guess is Adames said something about the lopsided score? Kudos to McCann for having some fire in his belly- he looked like the only Oriole out there with any...

Wells looked pretty bad. I thought he threw harder. His fastball was 91-92. He hung a few sliders and got torched. I saw his other start was pretty good, so I don't know if he just had an off night, or if he is as bad as he looked tonight. But he did not look like a capable MLB starter tonight. If he and Irvin continue to stink, we have real problems because I don't know who else can start? We may see Means again at some point, I hope, but this is the most glaring problem right now...
Heasley looked beyond bad. He may have pitched himself out of the MLB tonight. That's too bad....
The Brewers pitcher looked really good. 96 MPH heat and his slider had every single Oriole fooled all night long. 11 Ks I think... and it sucked to see Joey Ortiz nail 3 hits off us.... (although we have Corbin Burnes, so I guess that's good.)
Cowser is the only guy hitting for the O's right now. Boy- he's locked in. Confident. Solid contact. I hate the "Moo-ing" but I think we're stuck with it... The rest of the team is collectively struggling at the dish. Hays looks totally lost. Westburg and Henderson are hitting .200 (although with occasional well-timed home runs). Sadly, Holliday looks completely overwhelmed... I sat next to his dad tonight. That had to be tough to watch.
Hitting is always streaky and I think some guys may heat up. The starting pitching has me concerned. After Burnes and Rodriguez, I don' think we have enough...

Seems to be to show the fastball outside the zone every once in a while, then throw off speed crap and let them flail away…

Don't know much about him but the 20 yr old Venezuelan has 9 K's in 3 IP tonight.

Doctor here. The medical literature distinguishes between partial and complete tears, and whether the tear is proximal or distal. We don't know the extent of the injury. There is medical literature that supports efforts to rehab partial proximal tears. There is data that PRP injections, rest, and throwing program can help pitchers return to competition and avoid TJ surgery if the injury is partial and proxmial. So, I'm guessing that's what his injury is. Some of these pitchers can return to pitching successfully while others fail this approach and require TJ.
Either way, I wish him the best!

'92 was a strange year. Chris Hoiles hit 20 HR but only drove in 40 RBI. I wonder if that's a record for fewest RBI in a 20 HR season? Seems that would be almost impossible to beat....!?
I just checked and that is, in fact, the record!
Amazingly Orioles 3B Wayne Gross hit 11 HR in 1985 and drove in 18 RBI's. That's just as amazing/depressing...

Is the prospect cupboard a bit bare outside of Norfolk?

We still have lots of top end talent at AAA- Holliday, Mayo, and possibly Norby, Stowers, Kjerstad (when he's not shuffling between Norfolk and Baltimore). Outside of Beavers and Basallo, I don't see any position players below AAA that are impressing... Not sold on Bradfield, I hope he proves me wrong... NONE of the international guys, save Basallo, have done anything at all....
That may make trading for pitching help/relief help a bit challenging later in the season....
