  1. My favorite is when somebody does it, but has no way to contact him. There's one guy around here who hasn't posted in several years, and dings me from time to time. What's odd is that I can't tell why. Usually when somebody dings me, at least I know why. Sometimes I even agree with them. (Usually it's what seems like childlike retribution for disagreement, but not always. Sometimes somebody has a good point.) But when some phantom does it with no rhyme or reason to it, and I just wanna find out why, just out of curiosity, and there's no way to even ask, that seems kinda bizarre. At the very least, I think Those Who Ding should have to have PM's turned on. Otherwise, it's like a hit-and-run driver. (Not that dings are really hits, but you know what I mean.)

    Very bizarre and downright cowardly.

I actually got neg repped once for not hating the Yankees as much as I "should". And it wasn't from you!

  2. I've given out negative rep maybe 5 times total in my time here. I've been *legitimately* negative repped once, where the poster had "cause" (which I thought was bogus, but at least there was something of a reason behind it). Of the 5 times I've sent out negative rep, I'm pretty sure I've gotten reciprocal negative rep back 4 times. I think on the other one, the user was banned before he could neg-rep me back.

I'm in the same boat, the first time was legit, I was a jerk to someone who turned out to be a "friend" on here. The second time was nonsense, and I have that guy on ignore just to avoid any issues in the future.

I've never given it out, and really because I figure what you're saying would just happen back to me, so why bother.

  3. I like when you give neg rep for cause, and they neg rep you back for no reason. :laughlol:

I've never given it in all my years here, and only received it once before the other night. The thing is, I had 6 people give me positive for the same post, so I'm thinking the guy either misread or completely misunderstood me.

No biggie, but I had hoped for a response.

  4. When you IM someone who gave you neg rep for no reason and they ignore you.

I don't care about the rep, but at least have the decency to respond.

  5. I am very sorry your Angel is sick:(

Thanks Cindy...Hopefully this will end soon. I'm thinking that 105.2 is the peak, and it will get better fairly quick from here.

  6. Did you take her to the hospital? That's insanely high, isn't it?

We took her to the doctor where they tested her for Strep and took some blood. Her temp is now at 102.6 with the help of Motrin. Looks like a viral fever. Hopefully she'll be better in a few days.

  7. I am grown up:rolleyestf:

I am not going to fight you but please do not talk badly about Brian Roberts:hearts::002_scry:

By fight..I do not mean a physical one:eektf:

He wasn't talking badly about Roberts, what he's saying is let's not hold A Rod to a different standard than anyone else. People are acting like he's far worse than anyone else when none of us can argue that the Orioles have had many steroid users over the years, including Roberts.

I personally don't care about the steroid "issue" at all. They used, and now hopefully they're not using anymore. Let's forget all of the nonsense and play ball baby!!!

  8. I'm pretty stunned at all the hypocrisy coming from the A-Rod thing. He (sort of) admits it, and now he's apparently the only guy to ever do steroids.

Umm, this guy Brian Roberts who we're all deifying because he's our guy? He did it, too.

    Grow up, people.

Exactly! The Hypocrisy thing is what bothers me the most. Maybe the guys who scream at A Rod and dress up like a syringe can be the same ones who complain on here about how little class everyone else's fans have.

  9. :cussing: refs/umpires :angryfire:

Seriously, I have had quite enough of America East Conference refs lately!

    :o

I was more referring to the Super Bowl, but did hear that UMBC was hosed a bit again tonight. Weird, I wonder if Monroe's antics are costing the team a bit.

  10. That's because you were rooting for the Steelers. :angryfire: ;)

I wasn't rooting for anyone...I didn't really care who won the game. I just find it funny that we can't give anyone any credit, it's just silly.

  11. Trust me, there are plenty of kids who grew up with him in Towson who feel as you and I do and then some. There are some pretty entertaining Facebook groups on the subject. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be gratuitously rude to people.

That's funny. I'm off to Facebook now to check them out.

  12. I'll like them just fine once this particular group goes back to school on Monday. :new_wave::mwahaha:

He can't swim right now, he's too busy playing poker with strippers and "building the Phelps brand". :rolleyestf: [/QUOTE]

Glad i'm not the only one who's going through a bit of Phelps overload. I wanted to post that for weeks, but thought I'd get destroyed a la my "like" for Derek Jeter. Thanks for the support.

  13. I was going to rant about that too! That butchering of the National Anthem at the World Series was absolutely unacceptable! But hey, what better way to start the Fall Classic inside a plastic dome with catwalks criss-crossing over the playing field than with a bunch of 30something ex-teenybopper stars dishonoring our nation with their pathetic excuse for music?

Amen, sister! It's something that's always bothered me, that's not a song to make "your own" as they say.

Not that I take many of my life lessons from NASCAR, but Martinsville Race Track always has a High School band play the anthem for just such reason. It's about the song, not the performer.

  14. Brett Favre chartering a plane sounds more interesting to me than close to half the garbage that gets reported as "breaking news" on TV.

Of course that's not to say that Brett Favre chartering a plane is remotely interesting.

ESPN always caters to those big markets like Boston, New York, and Green Bay.;)
