From what I see or hear on national media, conversation about the Yankees now seems to center on the wildcard. I think the O's will have to go into a major swoon before people start talking about the Yankees challenging for the AL East pennant again.

Now that we're 18 games over .500, if we play .500 baseball the rest of the way we'll end up with 90 wins. I'm hoping for 95+.

Was Tommy Milone too much to pay for Sam Fuld? The pundits think so, but the A's said that Fuld was the guy they wanted and Milone was the price they had to pay. Same with the O's. Miller was the guy they wanted and ERod was the price. We didn't trade any of the big three of Bundy, Gausman, and Harvey. I'm fine with the deal.

Since Manny will become a free agent after his age 26 season, it's likely that different fans will be rooting for him when he reaches his ceiling. If the O's have any hopes of locking him up for a few more years, they'd better do it now. If he hits his 2nd year of arbitration without an extension, he'll be as good as gone.

He played all last season and had one better than average month, one average month, and four lousy months. Other than sentimental reasons, I don't understand why anyone would want him back. And for what he's getting paid... no way.

Your sentiments don't reflect his production last year. After a very good April, he had only one month (July, .770) in which his OPS was higher than .689.
