On the bright side, that fan got the coolest in-game souvenir possible, his glove.
Article in the Athletic:
"While López said something after the call, it wasn’t aggressive until De Jesus responded, at which point, it did escalate. Not to harp on it, but umpires: Stop making things worse on purpose.
I’m defending López, exactly. On his way off the mound, he threw his glove into the stands. Cool souvenir, but not exactly professional. After the game, he insisted he did not regret doing that, going on to say that either the Mets were the “worst team in the whole f—ing MLB” or he has looked like “the worst teammate, probably, in the whole f—ing MLB.” "

Same thoughts regarding the pricing. One day, I could see us treating another couple to one of those special sections, but certainly not on the regular. I love my regular seats (Sec 55) and wouldn't want to move.
There are several opportunities on the survey to write in "other" thoughts. I used those spaces for "better sound, better scoreboard/jumbotron." And, in the F&B section I said, "more beer choices, and do we really have to have the most expensive beer in MLB?"

Not going to throw numbers out there, but the impending implosion of half(?) of the RSNs might throw a huge wrench into the machinations of the 2024/25 free agent market. I'd be surprised to see any contracts over 4 years offered until there is some certainty as to how TV revenue will shake out.
If I'm Burnes, I'm looking for high AAV over length. North of $1M per start.

The missed called strike 3 in the 4th inning on Siani was horrific. And obviously, very impactful.
Deano was far from great tonight, but he deserved better officiating.

It gives them x days to trade him before releasing him. They may already have something in the works…

Any other recommendations? I'll be there on Sunday in the Bird Bath (row 3, second seat from the right).
I like the Smashburgers from Baseline Burgers, and also the tacos at Vida Taco Bar.

McCann throws a lot better than Rutschman. McCannon, indeed!

An 11-inning complete game, with four hit batsmen, but zero earned runs.
And the O's walk it off with a PH double by Corbin Burnes.

I wonder if he's getting enough rest with a new baby in the house?

A month's subscription is worth it just to watch Severance season 1. Add in one or two O's games and cancel after a month and I'd call it a good value.
Slow Horses, and of course, Ted Lasso as well.

They should get rid of the stupid save rule then people wouldn't be compelled to use washed up relievers to compile stats for milestones.

22 home games in 63 days? That is brutal!
I guess I'll take my vacation the first 10 days of August. Damn.

"The Guardians need to upgrade right field for the short- and long-term and acquiring Kjerstad, the second overall pick in the 2020 draft, would accomplish both aims."
In this trade, the Orioles would acquire two solid, controllable relievers to help fortify their bullpen. Gaddis, 26, has posted a 2.87 ERA in 17 appearances for Cleveland this season with 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings and 1.7 walks per nine. Smith, 24, has logged a 2.30 ERA and 1.43 FIP over 16 appearances this year, his first in the big leagues, with 13.8 strikeouts per nine (24 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings).
Seems reasonable to me, a swap of controllable assets.
Your thoughts?

I don't like hearing "Yankees suck" chants at OPACY. Let the Red Sox fans stoop to that level.
Let us win with grace, and allow the MFY fans to lose with dignity as they make the long trek back to Penn Station for the long, sad train ride home.
Let's Go O's!

The pitch clock addition has be a major change for me. My wife watches most games with me now and she's even yelling at the tv at times.
Same thing at my house! She's now calling for a 6-4-3 double play. Crazy.

McKenna will be a free agent next year, and could potentially be a 4th/5th OF fit for many of the teams in the bottom third of the league... I'm sure he'll sign elsewhere to get a shot at an MLB roster, as he's not high enough on our depth chart anymore for any lengthy shot at ours.Pretty sure he became a free agent when he was non-tendered last fall. He's playing on an MiLB contract.

The legend grows? Nice to be included!

When Holliday got his hit yesterday, his BA went from .000 to .142, according to the scoreboard. Should have been .071. Two for one special is still available!

During the Opening Day pregame ceremonies yesterday, the O's played an edited version of JFK's "New Frontier" speech, which he gave at the DNC in 1960.
My historian wife and I both found it a bit odd, and perhaps out of place.Did anyone else feel it was a bit bizarre?
Thanks,

I thought they were being sly with Wells, keeping him in limbo until the 2nd half, when he'd ride in like a hero with a fresh arm and blood full of piss and vinegar. Darn it!
I wish both of them speedy recoveries!
