D L pitched 3.1 innings for Brewers today. Started. 2 ER, 3K, 3B, 2H Ortiz entered in 7th. Hit a ball on the screws, but right at the left fielder. Bottom at SS he made an nice defensive play, grabbing a smash in the hole and throwing out runner at first. LA announcers complimented him on the play.

Announcers said the Rays have 11 walkoff wins this tear. Most in majors.

Both starters pitched well. Astro's bullpen was just a little bit better. Neither teams batters set the world on fire. Playoff caliber pitching for both squads. Just how the cookie crumbles in the playoffs.

Let’s hope Bautista has consulted with his agent, doctor’s, lawyers and union reps and get their opinion on his arm. There is no advantage to him to try throwing again if there is any possible chance of further injury. He has shown what he can do when healthy. He could cost himself millions. He does not owe the Orioles or their fans any possibility of further injury. This is a business and he needs to protect his equity. Let’s hope he has done due diligence for Felix Bautista

I ‘ ve been a Baltimore sports fan since 1953, and football has always been first. Maybe because the colts got good first, but they were always ahead of the Os in fan interest and support. Even in the glory years of 1966 to 1983, the Os were drawing at most 1.5 M per. Memorial stadium was always packed for football. Os attendance and interest really shot up when the colts left town. Baltimore was a blue collar, football kind of town.
