Losing sole possession of the division lead (at home on a night when one of your most celebrated players of the last 30 years is retiring) is not a good thing no matter how it’s spun.
The Rays are eating the O’s lunch.
Good thing it happened on AppleTV+
they won two games? Wooooooo that lunch

To be honest I would have a hard time cheering for anyone named Yamamoto, considering the history of Pearl Harbor.
That’s like saying you’d have a hard time cheering for someone named Cornwallis. You’re… not good

So they sweep us (which I highly doubt) they would still be 6 games behind us in the loss column. I guess you can choose to see ghosts if you want. I’m looking at our real competition for the pennant.
Blue Jays have always been a hated rival, it’s our turn to stomp. Get it done

Is Kyle Tucker out of position in right?
What? He just dropped that

I actually wasn't trying to be rude. I apologize if that was how it was taken. I take pain medicine for my many health problems and it's effects can cause me to not catch my tone occasionally, as well as memory and a host of other things. I won't go on any further about it because I don't want to turn this into a pity for me post.
I was the rude one, I didn’t really mean to be. I’m sorry to sound like a DB All is well on your end.

One last thing. People defending Elias for not doing more because of the cost. Elias said he took "some very big swings". If those had connected, I wonder if some of those defenders would now be criticizing Elias for giving up too much. Just my two cents.
Your 2 cents are worth less than a plug nickel, when you put it that way

I think Flaherty will be a better pitcher than the HOFers from here to the end of the season

Ortiz is a better SS than Mateo and it’s guaranteed that he is a better hitter.

Urias is incredibly valuable to this team

Some of you are enthralled with AAA numbers. But we are not seeing a direct correlation between what a player does there and what he does here.
Gunnar was the #1 prospect in the game (much more talented/better than Ortiz) and it took him 2 months before figuring things out. Westburg is currently adjusting to this level. And Cowser has just arrived and is struggling to acclimate thus far.
THEY WERE ALL RANKED AHEAD OF ORTIZ.
What do you guys want? To punt the season? Do you want them to bring up Kjerstad too who’s crushing AAA and a much better hitter than Ortiz? What about Mayo, him too?
I agree that Ortiz didn’t get a fair shake. But it is what it is now. Nothing can be done about what happened.
The team is trying to win while bringing guys to the show in a responsible manner,
Was just saying he has a lot of value perceived or in reality. Trade value was implied.

He’s had a handful of at bats. And Hicks is Hicks. All this really shows is that Ced is our MVP. Hope they don’t rush him back. This team relies on that dude.
-
Ortiz hasn’t gotten much of a shot. I’m not really sure his destiny to not be a “super star” should preclude his chance with us
-
It would be pretty rad

Just give my old man and I one. May be running low on time here.

He should be in the HOF.
One of the biggest game changers of the ‘90s. Absolute sure HOF career

Why do they need to? What’s wrong with Gunnar at SS?
Ortiz is probably the better SS. He’s replacing Mateo not Hendo. Gun, Ortiz, Westburg… what else do you want?
-
It’s baffling to me that they won’t commit to Ortiz at SS this year.
-
Ortiz seems to have all the chops to play SS at a high level. He could make a huge difference this year. Wouldn’t really have to hit all that well
-
Please start playing Ortiz regularly

And this is the first time that I can remember that I really don't "fear" the other AL East teams. Maybe it's because we're 11-7 so far, or maybe it's because I have faith in this team to play well overall, but I don't feel the Orioles ever go into a game as a deep underdog.
That's a credit to how they've played this year, but it's nice to know they only have to play their inter Division rivals 13 times vs the 18-19. It's still a little unbalanced for a "balanced" schedule, but it's better than it was.
It’s a huge burden released from our shoulders

Dude has given us a chance most times out, gotta love that

Gunnar OPS:
In Losses, .360
RISP, .548
2-Out RISP, .250
Late & Close, .143
He’s gonna take some lumps. Who knows, it may be for an extended period of time. I think he’s going to start gaining some momentum , Julio and Adley looked rough to start last last year.
I'm kind of glad this is happening now.
