Usually, I actually prefer the radio guys, just because they’ve got to do so much better, because there’s no visual.
That’s why I have a problem. If I can’t see the play, I need to be told what just happened, not what “Ribeye” had for dinner.

and FWIW, I do often turn down the TV and listen to the radio guys just to minimize that problem.
I find this interesting, because the problem you describe seems much more pronounced with the radio team. Or maybe it’s just more noticeable on a radio broadcast because I can’t see for myself.

). Are the Orioles doing anything this year for HR hitters? I haven't noticed.
They are handed some BMX bicycle handlebars.

I’m a fan of high fives to your teammates

And this would be the music played if I were a closer coming in from the bullpen.

This would be my walk up.

I think I'd rather be playing in the majors in an empty stadium than a packed house in AAA.
How is the Tides attendance?
We'd go to games every now and then when I lived there but there was never an issue getting tickets.
10k Friday, 7k+ Saturday. 5k+ today. Harbor Park holds about 12. They weren’t close to sold out last year for the three championship games.

Holliday playing SS today btw. He made a nice play going to his right but also has a throwing error.
This didn’t make any sense to me. He was sent down to get more experience at 2nd.

If today is the first step towards the ultimate goal of a World Series championship, it will be the best, hands down.

He seems really, really great. Almost too good to be true honestly.
As we were watching, I told my wife, “If I’m dreaming, don’t wake me “.

Side note - I never saw anyone butcher more names while broadcasting games as Brooks Robinson did, but he did it in the most adorable and innocent way, that we had to love it.

That would actually be fun to watch.
I think the O’s should stop in Norfolk on their way back to Baltimore for an exhibition with the AAA affiliate.
Full disclosure: I live in Norfolk

Honestly I wish Melewski would do these spring games, since he actually knows who all these minor leaguers are.
I agree. Sometimes they didn’t even announce who was at bat. It would have been nice to get a little background info on the batters.

He hired Elias, and for that, I will always be grateful.

I hate everything about the Yankees, but have to admit, I respect the fact that they basically have only one iconic hat. I wish we only used cartoon bird with all black.

Westburg until Holliday is ready, then Westburg becomes a super-utility. Ortiz at short and Gunnar at third.

Ortiz, because stellar defense is undervalued and Josenberger because I used to work with his Mom.

I much prefer a homegrown team who outworks and outsmarts the opposition to a bunch of store bought overpaid mercenaries.

Mullins. I think he was hurt pretty much all year with the groin injury and that really hurt him offensively. He was running wild in April. 30-30 type season.
This is what I’m thinking.

I took the curtain. Partly because I still feel the wildcard is only a degree removed from a participation trophy.

Rookie of the Year. Last year’s runner up for Rookie of the Year. #1 prospect. #1 farm system. AAA Champions.

Have to wonder where Felix would have finished, had he remained healthy and continued on the trajectory he was tracking.

Apparently, this was the least-watched World Series ever.
That’s what happens when you have an 84-78 wildcard team and a 90-72 wildcard team in the World Series. MLB chose quantity over quality.
O’s cap every game

What’s with the Friday night O’s cap every game on this trip?
Also, I like the Black Orioles jersey, but I thought on the road, we displayed Baltimore.
