  1. I agree. And I think it all comes back to Cena and Irish Cena. You can only have a man on top for so long. Let him be a midcard for a short while, add some respectability to the U.S. Title, something. But give the guys who are climbing a shot at the top.

  2. I agree with your Brock assessment. Heck, they should have had Brock "break" Orton's arm to explain his sticky icky abscence.

Kane and Bryan need to team now. NOW. Add those damn Dudleys, the Prime Time Players, Kidd and Gabriel, the Usos, and The Colons, and all of a sudden you have a pretty awesome tag division that can eat up the first hour by itself.

I'm also looking forward to the return of Wade Barrett. Between him, Ziggler, Rhodes, and the Miz, I don't know who I would rather watch on a consistent basis.

  3. Amtrak! I am understanding of delays due to the weather, but the lack of information and even providing false information last night was maddening. I do not blame the customer service folks, who were all quite nice and helpful. But I do not understand why the 800-number reps and the internet train status service cannot be fed the same info that the info desk at the station gets.

We were scheduled to depart Baltimore last night at 7:04. There was no info posted online or on the phone or on the board at Baltimore Penn until 8:00, at which time the people on the phone told me the train would depart Baltimore at 8:27. Wrong! We got back to the station and the board just said "Delayed," like it had since 7:04 came and went. The info desk at Baltimore Penn told me as much. Anyway, finally at 9-something we were allowed on the train that was supposed to depart at 6:04. That was the other thing, we were never told there was a chance they might honor our tickets on an earlier train. I understand they can't guarantee anything, but what's wrong with saying "if enough people give up and leave we may be able to let you on the next train through"? The train we got on was supposed to be sold out but couldn't have been more than 2/3 full. Our car was 1/2 full or less. We had considered spending an extra night at my parents' house and leaving early this morning, with the wife just going in to work late. Glad we didn't make that call.

I'm planning on writing a letter later but need to gather my thoughts. Getting false information was what put me over the edge - that is just infuriating. And why bother having the online and automated phone status systems if you aren't going to put any information in them?

I generally really, really like Amtrak, except for the price, which is high in the NE corridor (still cheaper than flying, though), but this was a huge failure of something that should not be that difficult - providing basic information updates that are not incorrect.

You do realize that it had just snowed over 20" in some places? If you did not want to deal with delays, you should have left before the snow storm began. To expect people to give you an exact time is a little insane. The phone operators very well could have been told 8:27 as a departure time, but it had just snowed a RECORD amount of snow for this time of year. To expect tons of information is a little over the top. Your train was delayed. Would you have preferred that they say "Hey, we told customers 8:27! Come hell or high water, we will have these people on the tracks!"?

Also as much as you are upset about getting wrong information, you want them to tell you that you might be able to get on a train earlier, with a strong possibility that won't happen? Under-promise, over-deliver.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand how people can be so un-understanding when we have a record-setting blizzard. People are working on the fly with just as little information as you are, whether they work in retail, travel, or in government. If it is that important to you to get that one gift, get home, or to get your road plowed, then go out the night before the overdone news-story snowstorm, head home a day earlier, or go out and shovel your own road!

  4. Horaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!

(sorry, I know I'll probably get a vacation for this but it's Friday!!!)

Personally, I read that to mean you are happy that she reached a decision.

That may be 100% off base. ;)

  5. Just lost a game of beer pong...to Brett Cecil's little sister. Yes. That Brett Cecil. In my defense, she was really good, but I'm totally kicking her butt next week.

Craziness. Way to go Adam Loewen in the background. Yes, THE Adam Loewen.

  6. Knowing how not to speak truth to power is worth more in the workplace than a master's degree from one of the top universities in your field. I see proof of this every day.

    Amen.

  7. Yeah, people really like it when a company doesn't treat them like crap, and instead treats them like they're worth being treated right. You'd think companies in general would have noticed this by now, but evidently not. So, it sounds like your company is on the cutting edge of doing something obvious and sensible ;-)

You'd think so, but even tryig to get a call back from a tiny mom-and-pop store is almost impossible. Cutting edge stuff, folks.

  8. Being put on Hold by Best Buy for 15 minutes:mad:and than told that their computer were down......and could not help me:rolleyestf:

    By the way..it was an automated message..not a human:p

Also, we literally just began a test in our district for making the phone service in the stores better --- specialized labor to answer phones as a one-stop-shop, to give customers an all in one service option. I'm the supervisor for my store and it's freaking amazing how crazy people react when they get great phone service. I'm even having my guys and gals call back customers that they miss a call from, to which I had a guy exclaim, "HOLY (poop)!" once we called him back. We've been running it about two weeks now and good results.

What did you need Cindy? Anytime you have a Best Buy question, I'll be happy to give you my email address.

  10. Why I cannot find a job for which I'm actually appreciated, I have no idea. I do have a job so I can't complain about that, but when a manager explains that in order to be promoted I have to be a "top salesman, and then train a couple more top salesman," and I'm then told that I don't "do the basics" after an interview, I am going to be pissed.

Their "basics" include service plans and services attachment --- I'm attaching service plans for the quarter at a 76.77% rate and services at a rate of 44.2%. I've been training new people the entire time, and since I started training this group, our home theater department is writing 36.7% attachment in service which is up over 20% over the last quarter. This kind of growth is par for the course in any department I have ever been in.

When I bring this up, I'm told that it is because I "can't manage my time." I can't manage my time because they consistently have my shift end at 9:30 and the closing shift does not get out until 11. WTF do I have to do? I can't wait until I find an actual job where I can be unappreciated and underpayed for something I actually enjoy.

  11. To the random jackass that decided to shatter the rear window to my car: You suck at life. If I find you, and I will do my damnedest, you will pay. I will find a way to make this a felony vandalism, and I will see to it that your life is inconvenienced as much as humanly possible. In short, stop being such a freaking jerk for no reason.

  12. What do you mean?

You have kids. I would think you not like them either:confused:

Melmo was being sarcastic, and you took him literally. Scottie was saying that you are getting up in arms over nothing, I believe. Hence "reel it in."

  13. I agree with everything said here of course, and these scumbags are likely to continue to do these awful things anyway. My only question was as far as the law goes, it seems that it'd be hard to get a conviction based on the way NBC "catches" these guys.

It is no different than a sting operation.

If the guys are online, they are probably looking to hook up with some kid.

    Strike one.

They then show up at said "kids" house.

    Strike two.

They also happen to be carrying a box of condoms, a bottle of Pinot, some candles, and a "Best of Babyface" CD.

    Strike 3.

It just so happens that NBC is there and interviews the pervs. It really isn't any different than watching COPS, except NBC is doing a community service by funding the sting operation. Bravo to them.

  14. 2600 hits, .315 lifetime BA, 9 All Star Games, 4 World Series championships, rookie of the year, top 10 in the MVP voting 6 times, 6 200 hit seasons, 1500 runs scored, and 3 gold gloves (I know, I know)..;)

Come on Scottie, I know he's not your favorite, but he didn't get these numbers by accident. Gold Gloves not withstanding.

Yeah I'm actually going to agree. It's not just the numbers either. As hard as this is to say, he's the Cal of the NY Yankees for the 90's and 00's, with Bernie and Mo being the supporting cast of Eddie et al.

Is he the greatest thing since sliced bread, no. Is he overrated? Probably. Does he deserve to be in the HOF? If he can dupe the media for this long, I think he does.

  15. So have you ever watched a television show that you should be completely ashamed of watching? Welcome to my current old-school Beverly Hills 90210 kick.
