  1. Sadly, I think we are done for now. I expected a move for a BP arm but this will probably have to wait til July. I thought getting Scott back for something including Mateo made way too much sense to happen, and I know dialogues existed but you need 2 to tango. Let’s just… enjoy the most hyped ST in years!! And think about that… we have been STOKED the last 2, and this one will be even better. The talent we have… should be making other teams wet their pants. Burnes will make us incredibly better, and arguably top 3 rotation in MLB.
  2. So.. when I said I didn’t think we were done, this isn’t quite what I imagined lol.
  3. Oh, I missed that. Thanks. I think the prices right now are higher than we are willing to pay. Teams seem to think just because we have the prospects and they appear to be blocked that we are willing to pay $10 for a $3 slice of ham....
  4. Eh...I don't know. It would remind me of the Nelson Cruz signing years ago. Santander is gone after this year. So if we could use him to get a back end reliever and replace his bat / if not an upgrade from Martinez, clear a spot for Cowser/Kjerstad/Stowers to get regular at bats. I see it as an upgrade/win. I absolutely agree that 2 of those 3 need regular at bats at the major league level.
  5. I would agree. I still think we are in the hunt for a RP and moving one or both of them...is ideal
  6. Have you seen his numbers? He's a better bat than any of our OF/DHs... you make room for him.
  7. The more days that pass, the more I’d love JD Martinez in our lineup… of course we’d need to create room
  8. Ok, so this JUST HIT ME that i never responded to this. My bad....Talk about a mental lapse. . . Good Lord. I meant Tanner Scott., but i absolutely was thinking of Bleier when i said Boston. Sorry about that.
  9. I could see Mountcastle being a player they like. I’d prefer E cab and I’d guess Elias would too. Move him to the pen… a LIVE arm, tons of strikeouts
  10. I don’t think people realize how good he was last year. Even the year before he was better than he was here. High K rate and Lower BB rate. Everyone remembers what he was here. It is going to take a good prospect to pry him. Would you move Urias or Mateo and McDermott for him?
  11. If his price drops, I’d be all over this. Would probably take more to get Tanner but again, we have the tools. Scott checks the boxes to replace DL and is an upgrade …and is an old friend
  12. Elias had a bunch of lines in the water . Just because he caught a rockfish doesn’t mean the trout (not Mike ) or the snapper doesn’t also get reeled in.
  13. We need one more high leverage guy. Still got the resources to go get one.
  14. What about a reunion with an old friend? Had a bad year last year in Boston, but…
  15. I know everyone is biased … but they were NEVER getting anything close to what they wanted from us lol
  16. Thanks. Apparently since this wasn’t “on the docket/agenda” for next weeks meeting, it may take a few weeks to finalize. The vote will pass but MLB will double check all the owners to make sure that none of them are Dan Synder ..
  17. This is an incredibly accurate point. However, I am making an educated guess based on something I heard that Rubenstein and Elias have had conversations and both appear to be on the same page at least out of the gate .
  18. I would think that the CWS and Marlins have a list of people we are okay trading once this ownership thing is finalized. My guess is at this point it’s take it or leave it with what Elias has offered… and would happen after the owners meeting. my personal opinion is that we will not go into ST without a additional SP…
  19. Free agent wise? No Trade wise? I personally think so. New ownership might have different values on players they want to keep or are okay with trading. Now, this is not to say they couldn’t have told JA their thoughts but I personally think this is a hurdle . extension wise? Yep. Not gonna extend a player and dish out $100+ m til the dust settles.
  20. Just heard this got expedited to be done before opening day, They upped the offer to get it done. Should get the rest of the MLB owners approval next week. Like I mentioned before, there “appears” to be the desire to spend to win. They know the window we have… Take it fwiw. Flame away..
