  1. Agreed. I do wonder if even if he had a higher budget, would Elias be opposed to the opt-out model that’s currently popular? Or would he try to bring such a player in on a 1-year deal with a higher AAV. Pretty high risk/capped reward to do these opt out deals IMO.
  2. What haven’t they publicly shared necessarily? Outside of a defined timetable but that’s probably pretty challenging to accurately nail down I’d imagine?
  3. People have apparently seen too many instances of rehab not working to even entertain the possibility that this may have been a minor tear where surgery wasn’t the right course of action. There’s also a self-preserving benefit of keeping expectations low when you care about something as much as many of us do on this subject. The Os have been communicating the entire time that this rehab program had a high enough chance of success to likely allow Bradish to meaningfully contribute this year. That doesn’t mean it will work out but the pessimism amongst the fanbase hasn’t matched the communications from the team or Bradish’s throwing program IMO.
  4. What’s the over/under for pages of apoplectic rage you’re going to generate over there by debating them on the quality of this versus the Burnes deal?
  5. I‘ve been snooping over there for the last hour or so. They’re mostly underwhelmed. They felt better once Zavala was involved but he’s obviously still not in line with where many of their expectations were. I hope Joey Ortiz has a great career for a number of reasons, with one definitely being that it’ll haunt some of their worst posters.
  6. Agreed. Os just didn’t want him that badly I don’t think. I feel pretty confident they weren’t offering any of their top 5 prospects, at any point during these negotiations.
  7. It really did get personal between our two fan bases
  8. Just poking a little fun over the post-Burnes thread. I think the players and team are different and as such the GM’s approach should and will hopefully be different.
  9. They should, and while I understand fans skepticism over if it will happen, it may be more likely to happen than we think. We’re accustomed to Elias holding onto these types of pieces because he’s done so in the past. But just as with the Burnes trade, the team is now in a different position than it has been previously; Elias may appropriately react differently. @wildcard will have to start a new thread on it being a change in approach by Elias if/when it happens
  10. He’s probably paranoid worrying that the league would tank the deal just to leave him stuck with the bill
  11. Does The Sun article mention the length of the agreement? The Banner article makes no mention of it. I would hope a short-term extension may indicate a potential streaming option sooner rather than later.
  12. https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/sports/orioles-mlb/masn-comcast-deal-more-expensive-package-XL6RO3BB35F5LHYL24QEM5JLCU/ "For those who wish to continue watching MASN, the monthly Xfinity TV charge will eventually be $20 extra per month. However, a spokesperson for Comcast said the cable network will run a promotion for customers merging to the Ultimate TV package. The first three months will be free, the next three months will be $10 extra, and by the seventh month the $20 charge will take effect."
