I'm old enough to remember the gnashing of teeth that Cowser wasn't brought up fast enough to push the team over the top because guys like Hicks were toast.
He's had some tough draws on the mound with him, but it's not been the opposing pitcher that has hurt him, but the batters. Hopefully, he keeps trending upward.
Right, but fair or not, the "Orioles" go from the golden child of MLB to a national embarrassment, I don't think it's too far out there to suggest it can spill over to the field. It puts the players in an uncomfortable position.
I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that statement. Did he get suspended for it being false? As far as I can tell the Orioles are 6-3 vs the Rays this year and were 9-10 vs them last year.
I can tell not many of you frequent games at Yankee stadium. Where the lines are every bit as bad, the food more expensive, and less palatable. It's a problem at any venue, go to a concert and stand in line for 30 minutes waiting to get a beer, etc.
They can let Yoshida win. A 30-year-old rookie making 15.6M dollars per year is 2 full wins below our 22-year-old making 723k a year. If it makes Boston feel better about spending 70M dollars on a sub-2 WAR player that Yoshida wins ROY, more power to them.
I do watch a lot of them just because they are on TV every night here, they are playing like a AAA team right now after trading nearly everyone with talent away. They aren't the A's level bad, though.
