  1. Maryland on the road at Wisconsin tonight. The way they played last time I'm not expecting much, but you never know. Terps are 2.5 point underdogs.
  2. Yeah, Wiggins and Ayala have taken steps back this year, particularly Wiggins. Talented guys, they need to find their confidence and shot. I am not convinced this is a very deep team. The bench isn't that good. The turnovers are baffling. When you have a senior like Cowan making dumb mistakes you are in trouble. Just gonna chalk it up as a bad game on the road. Iowa played harder plain and simple.
  3. Yeah this year has been had. I have a hard time considering anything under 80% good. I'm a 37 year old white dude, and I could shoot better than 77%. Granted I'm not even close to the level they are playing on, but free throws shouldn't be that difficult.
  4. We are letting Iowa get lots of open shots too. The offense is sloppy and ugly. So many missed free throws I stopped counting. Cowan is not a good free throw shooter. Every game he'll miss a few and the announcers will say, "a rare miss from Cowan." No, it's not rare.
  5. I'll be honest, I don't think Serrel Smith is that good. He doesn't bring much to the game. Lindo needs to develop an offensive game too, at least he hustles and rebounds.
  6. Cowan needs to stop leaning back on free throws. That's when he misses them. Missed 5 as a team already.
  7. Great defense so far. Stupid turnovers on offense. I've seen this story before.
  8. Road game at Iowa, where the Terps have had some success recently. See if we can stop Luke Garza, who is averaging 22.1 points this season. Will be another interesting matchup for Stix. Might see double teams on him. I'd like to see Morsell give him a tough time. Terps are two point favorites. It's gonna be a close game.
  9. Wiggins has these flashes of athleticism. If he could just put it all together and shoot consistently. Ohio State doesn't strike me as a great team. It's basically the Wesson brothers and everyone else. They were missing Young, not the best game offensively from them. Credit the Terps for hustling defensively all night.
  10. Kaleb Wesson reminds me of Jordan Williams, except bigger and stronger.
  11. And Scott got fouled. Morsell has been my favorite player for a while. Nothing but hustle and energy.
  12. Nice drive Ayala. That's the strength I like to see from him. Assertive and smart. Ohio State has missed some open shots, but we've played tight defense all night. I actually think we've rebounded well.
  13. I was just about to post that. As soon as he gets some traffic/pressure he loses all control. Just go up strong Stix, you probably will get fouled.
  14. Stix has improved so much beyond the arc the last 3-4 games. With that stroke it was inevitable he would hit some. Scott has shown some handles tonight, first I've seen of that. He has a high motor too. I like his skill set.
  15. Great find by Cowan. This is Morsell's best shooting season. Without the stupid turnovers we could be leading by way more. Marial will eventually learn hold the ball high.
  16. Hopefully this is Ayala's coming out game. That 3 was big. Marial comes off the bench and immediately makes an impact defensively. That size defending the rim is hard to ignore if you are trying to score.
  17. #12 Terps take on #11 Buckeyes at XFinity Center. Jalen Smith vs. Kaleb Wesson will be an interesting matchup to watch. Kyle Young might be out for Ohio State, their fourth leading scorer. Maryland is 2.5 point favorites. Let's go.
  18. If that is the case then I'm glad they are gone. Don't need those types of rancorous egos on the team. Tomaic is probably going to get some run too.
  19. They may not have been that good, but now our frontcourt depth is pretty much gone. Marial better be healthy enough to contribute. Scott and Lindo are going to get lots of playing time. I read the twins had conduct detrimental to the team, and Turgeon pretty much had to let them go. My expectations on this season have gone south. Anything they achieve is a plus, even something as minimal as the Sweet 16. And that's sad. Maybe they can surprise? They still have talent, can Turgeon manifest that into success on the court? I have my doubts. Cheering for them.
  20. So frustrating to see guys continually throw up bad shots. Guys would drive right into the teeth of Seton Hall's defense and throw up off balance shots. Pass up an open jumper, drive straight at Gill and get blocked. Dumb turnovers in traffic. When we did get an open shot we would miss. Wiggins and Cowan need to step their games up - everyone does. Credit to Seton Hall for playing great defense all night. There isn't one guy on the team I trust to face up their defender and score 1-1. This is a jump shooting team. The inside presence is nil. Occasionally a guy will flash to the rim and receive a pass, but that is rare.
  21. True. I just think he can work on all of it. I've never seen a big guy throw up so many awkward looking shots near the basket. Like if you compare how Bruno looked in the post and Jalen, it's completely different. Footwork for sure. At least he hit some jumpers tonight including some threes. If he's gonna keep taking them he might as hit them haha. He has a good looking shot. He's the one who hit the big 3 against LSU last year.
  22. That play at the first half by Wiggins was ridiculous. I can't remember the last time I saw a player miss a three and finish their own rebound with a dunk. Maybe never. I love Morsell. He is a creator. He consistently penetrates the lane and either creates his own shot or opens up a play for someone else. Ayala plays strong. He isn't afraid. He's the one guy that can drive and score almost at will. Plus his shot is money. I wish Stix had better footwork. He may have bulked up his upper body, but he still looks awkward sometimes in the post. Needs to strengthen his core. Gotta love his size though, grabbed tons of rebounds tonight. Lindo looks bigger and stronger. He didn't play much tonight but I noticed that. Team rotates on defense very well.
  23. Big Ten/ACC Challenge game. Notre Dame is led by two seniors, John Mooney and T.J. Gibbs. They have another senior forward Juwan Durham. I think our young bigs will be challenged this game, I'd like to see the Mitchell twins give us some good minutes along with Lindo. Of course Jalen Smith needs to step up. Game is at home at Xfinity Center. Terps are 9 point favorites. Let's go! I'll be recording this game but will watch when I get home later tonight.
  24. Cowan is having a pretty good start to the year huh? That's the type of senior leadership we are going to need from him. He's shooting the lights out.
  25. I woke up late ugh, so much for watching an entire game haha. I like this score though! Wiggins! That's the aggressiveness I like to see! Strong drive and dunk! Morsell hustling as usual, he's our best energy guy.
