He is weighted down too much from carrying the team on his back? Seriously though, I personally think he’s been very good defensively. Eye test anyway. I agree the throws on stolen base attempts have not looked good in some cases. But most of the bad throws have seem rushed. IMO

Hardly the worlds greatest athletes? All of them, Givens included are way beyond an athletic level the every day person could understand. I’ve been lucky enough to see ex independent ball players whose athleticism is way beyond what most of us can do. Explosiveness, throwing ability, quick twitch movements that seem impossible. And they didn’t even make milb. Sorry, slight rant, but drives me nuts when anyone calls one of the 800 best baseball players less than supremely athletic. Givens doesn’t look good for whatever reason for sure.

Seems like the consensus (not overwhelming) is for Urias being more valuable to the O’s. I guess the next question is which one is more valuable to a potential trade partner and I certainly don’t the answer to that.

Complaining about our potentially gold glove, and currently .806 OPS hitting catcher with the team 16 games over .500 is well…..so surreal. 10 minutes ago we were watching Pedro Severino watch pitches fly past him and losing 100 games a year. Not dissenting anyone’s opinion, just saying I am so much enjoying this ride!
