This is what I'm curious about. Only 2 players on either side of second base? Only 3 players allowed on the outfield grass?
What about when you’re trying to cut down a runner at home? I’ve seen 4 guys on the dirt, trying to stop a team from scoring.
How does this effect legitimate defenses?

Sure but Drungo is saying his range in the minors wasn’t great. Now we saw Jeter be great without range but still.
Obviously a plus bat at SS is huge. I also wonder about his positioning.
Jeter was never a good defender. He made some spectacular plays that the media played up.
Yankees would have been better if AROD played short.

BB is en fuego right now. Why throw anything in the neighborhood of the zone for him to drive? Same with Judge. Same with Arozarena. Same with Devers.
These dudes kill O’s pitching. Why throw them anything remotely close to their zone? So frustrating.
Why do you even watch?

Hyde is showing us, the overall state of the organization is more important than trying to get to the playoffs.
GRAND SCHEME

The umpire blocked his view.

To be honest that rocking motion does seem intended to deceive the runner? So it should be a balk every time?
It’s not the rocking, he has to stop before throwing the pitch.

Ben McDonald basically just called Baumann average to below average in a really nice way.
He needs another pitch to be considered for starting. His pitch location is terrible.

Watkins needs to be a bullpen pitcher the remainder of the season If the Orioles really want to compete for the wildcard.
He gave us 6 plus innings today. That has value, with a DH tomorrow.
We have lost his last 5 starts but, they haven’t scored either.

I still think Correa comes here.
Why? It looks like we have cheap SS options on our roster.
Correa doesn’t make sense anymore.

The guy was playing while his kid was in the hospital with a good chance of dying and we are questioning his makeup? FFS.
If we could, I would try to acquire him this winter.

Voth needs to end this inning soon, he's already at 22 pitches with only one out on the scoreboard.
Voth not throwing strikes.

This guy Sears is good. Gotta tip your cap and give credit when it’s due.
Umpire stretching the strike zone makes it all possible.

No, stupid to walk the 9 hitter for a better hitter. Stupid execution.

Disappointing game …. Glad we were in it but we let them off the hook with poor base running. I thought we were going to break out against Verlander before he left with the injury. Can we please stop swinging at the letter high fastball ?
Letter high? I could forgive that. They’re swinging at pitches head high, absolutely no chance to hit those.

The Jorge Lopez who’s got a 1.5 Whip so far in Minnesota?
I think we sold high on him. Doesn’t change the fact that Baker has been bad lately.
We do a lot of hand wringing on this board.
If the defense had been playing normal depth, only one run scores and we get the second out.
This inning would be over, couple of ground balls finding a hole.

Why would they bother?
The Orioles making a run is good for MLB as a whole, it's an intriguing storyline.
I thought maybe gambling. Yeah, not joking.

I’m mad at the NY office seemingly trying to steer an Astro win.
Yesterday Mateo was called safe on a very similar play, no concrete evidence to overturn. They did just that. Today, same kind of play and they stick with the umpires call.
Very one sided decision from NY.

Did you see Mountcastle? Turning all the way around. He had no chance to catch that.

Chris Davis is still available. He might even take a pay cut from $23 million.
He probably today makes those routine plays.

I think Ryan has been good this year. He should have had the one but the throws are awful.
Ryan has never been a good defensive first baseman.
Seriously look at a good one like Rizzo for Yankees.

The need for a real first baseman is so evident.
We keep trying different guys at first base but you just can’t do that. Chris Davis for all his faults would have made both those plays. He’s our last real first baseman.

I wonder how his opo power plays in the new Camden Yards.
