I'd send him for his temerity.
Bonus points for utilizing temerity - great word! However, as the great Dizzy Dean used to say, “It ain’t bragging if you can do it!”
That fun stuff aside, I highly doubt Holliday would brag in such a manner. By all appearances, he seems like a humble kid.

GRAND SLAM... off of a lefty!
I think Holliday could suggest to management, “If you can find that ball, you can send me back down.”

Or when he spends big on a free agent.
Or — when he extends or keeps some or at least one of our cool kids. Nothing more depressing to me than developing talent that spends some glory years in NY or LA.

With some substantive free agents, lots of bodies about to fill the waiver wire — I think teams have too many short term options to want one of our (Urias, Mateo options) older extras. I’m guessing Elias may wait.

I think it matters but has always seemed hard to quantify. Look forward to reading this as well. Thanks.
Agreed. I think the old school vibe about team chemistry has something to it — but so hard to give it WAR value.

It’s still really hard to believe.
Yes it is. I think I’ll finally exhale and get fired up about it when the final MLB owner vote is announced.

Is it Hyde or FO analytics making that decision? IIRC, there was an interview over the winter (Eve?) which basically said that analytics gives Hyde the daily starting lineups.
I agree that very encouraging that Stowers is showing that he is capable of handling LHPs this spring.
Are there sources for Hyde getting the daily line-up handed to him? I imagined a briefing or a pre-game from the FO and then he sets his line-up.

Rinehart tried to make it a game — O’s hold on 7-3. Hennen 3 pitches, 3 strikes for the save.

More power from Stowers... is that his 2nd HR this week off a lefty???
I think so.

Stowers Strikes Again! Birds up by a touchdown.

Daniel Johnson shows some range in CF, flagging down a deep fly. He's not just a masher!
Yeah, that catch kept the inning from going off the rails.
-
All of the O’s starters now subbed out except for Mayo and Kjerstad to start the 7th - Birds up 5-0.
-
Robinson in for Hays on first.
-
Hays with a very nice single - 3 RBI’s on the day.
-
Nice to see some offense.
-
Hays home run, Birds finally on the board! 1-0.
-
One inning for Terehan - kept everything around the plate for a shut out inning.
-
Tate looked decent too - Mounty flashing the leather over at the first base bag.
-
O’s making Stroman look like Cy Young.

Terehan looked decent.

I jinxed him. My bad.

Decent interview with pitching coach Drew French.

I know Wong is likely a depth move, but he looks in mid season form with the glove so far.

It feels like Irvin is being squeezed a bit, he should have got the strike call before the soft single.

There are so many threads at the Hangout, I don’t know if there is enough time in the day to keep up with amazing amount of traffic on the coolest place on the Web for Bird fans to assemble.
Again, I guess that is why it is cool to remember Weams, who somehow knew every member — and even more amazing, remembered whatever weirdness I had previously spouted.
I can’t even imagine how troublesome someone had to be to anger Weams! Okay, maybe NOT too hard to imagine, some folks do enjoy being unreasonable in the modern day.
Jumping in and jumping in more often, it’s a fun era of fandom. Headed to Ed Smith Stadium this weekend.
