Come on, those "X times through the order" batting averages are meaningless and misleading. It's beneath even MASN.

Move Santander down in the lineup. You want Westburg up in that situation.

Jones officially retired last year.
He's going to be on next year's ballot for the actual Cooperstown HOF. So if they don't care when you're "officially" retired why should the Orioles?

Are there some kind of eligibility rules that make Markakis eligible but not Jones yet? Markakis last played MLB in 2020, Jones in 2019. If it's based on when they last played the Orioles, why did J.J. Hardy get in before Markakis? I don't get it.
played for the Orioles, I mean

For a team that's doing a real good job at marketing lately, this is an obvious layup.

What makes closers reliable is that they have a pitch that's so good that it doesn't matter if the secondaries aren't working or can't be thrown for strikes. Felix Bautista throws a fastball in the triple digits so even if the splitter isn't there he can get the job done more often than not. Nobody ever said "Zach Britton can't locate his slider, we're doomed." Webb looks awesome when all the stuff is working, just like Cano or Perez, the question is how often is that going to be the case.

Hope nobody had their heart set on catching an Aaron Judge home run ball.

I just read that Sotos triple would’ve been a hr in 29/30 ballparks. LOL. Man I hope he’s shuffling in the dugout thinking about that.
A triple's pretty good, too bad the guy behind him is hitting .197.

Perez coming in for the 9th.
Brandon Hyde is not messing around. He's going for the jugular.
Um, I like Cionel but how is that going for the jugular exactly?

Three of the top four balls by EV have been outs, all by the O's
Make it four of the top five.

He's trying so hard to walk Santander and Tony just won't let him

I'm not watching with sound so someone will need to tell me if Kevin Brown attempts a Gulf of Tonkin Resolution pun. Maybe if someone hits a low pitch "golf off Tonkin" or something.

Soto is amazing and I feel like it's a miracle whenever he makes an out.

Any word on the additional tests that they were going to run on Grayson?

Gunnar seems to have had a rough go of it lately.
1 for 13 with a infield hit since the big HR.

Bullpen has stepped up this whole series. That Torres HR is the first run it has allowed in 4 games, I think.
No doubt. This is the kind of lead I hate, though. Big enough that losing would be devastating. Small enough that it could happen.

Mullins can't time up anything lately.

I can't really figure out Akin. 93 center cut and of course it gets blasted but he doesn't have much else. Now he walks a lefty.

Imagine being traded to the Yankees and not even having a choice over your face autonomy.
I don't really know what the Yankees could do if someone refused. What if there were a Sikh ballplayer?

Hate to be a downer but the O's have come close to losing leads bigger than this and that was when Kimbrel was rolling. Bullpen needs to step up today.

Productive AB from Mateo.

Satisfying game!

First base ump has the Jon Heyman philosophy of check swings.

It seems like a lot of our foul popups have been staying in play these last few games.
